Research Of Brush Seal Technology On The Rotary Air Preheater And Manufacturing Of Aluminium Honeycomb Sealing Technology

Rotary air preheater is one of necessary auxiliary equipment of power plant.Leakage rate is one of important index of the rotary air preheater performance. The actual leakage rate is bigger than the design leakage rate is the common problem of the rotary air preheater.Brush seal is one of the new type sealing technology which can significantly reduce the gas leak.Now,the research and application of brush seal are mainly concentrated in aeroengine, gas turbine, steam turbine and compressor etc.Professor He Li-dong put forward brush seal be applied in air preheater. This paper is based on the plan of brush seal technology applied in rotary air preheater and some further researches were done.The application of brush seal on the air preheater, air preheater brush seal leakage features, the relation between brush seal effect with air preheater differential pressure, the air preheater original smooth sealing clearance and the thickness of brush seal;air preheater brush seal life-span, the relation between brush seal life span with brush seal wire length,brush seal wire tilt angle,brush seal wire diameter and so on,air preheater sealing brush manufacturing processand brush seal surface treatment were researched in this paper. What's more,we applied the brush seal technology in actual air preheater transformation for the first time.Honeycomb seal technology is a new kind of rotating mechanical sealing technology, it not only has good sealing performance, also have good rotor dynamic characteristics, etc.Now,the common honeycomb seal is steel honeycomb sealing technology,which using widely in rotating machinery such as steam turbine, smoke turbine, etc.The steel honeycomb sealing strip tend to cause spark when the shaft of the rotating machinery touches with the strip. It seriously limits the honeycomb sealing technology application in rotating machinery which works with flammable and explosive gas medium such as centrifugal compressor.General speaking, the labyrinth seal material of current compressor is brass or aluminum. Aluminum, especially the thin-walled aluminum materials, whose welding performance is very poor, so the manufacturing process of aluminium honeycomb sealing strip cannot copy of welding manufacturing process of the steel honeycomb sealing strip. In this paper, we based on the former research, improved the process of aluminium honeycomb strip using etching technical,completed aluminium honeycomb strip cyclization process,and the last completed the aluminium honeycomb circle manufacturing, which push the aluminium honeycomb sealing technology application in actual engineering.
