Mechanical Seal is an important part of engineering equipment, the radical convergence gap seal belongs to self-pressurized hydrostatic pressure seal. The fluid film has high carrying capacity because of its positive stiffness, which is often used in the dynamic sealing condition of higher operating parameters, such as the lower primary sealing assembly of the reactor coolant pump of the nuclear power plant. Although the convergence gap hydrostatic seal is used in many important occasions, the theoretical research of it is also lack, especially the effect which is needed for further research in the structural parameters on the sealing performance.According to the characteristics of convergence gap sealing, this paper presents the variable cone angle structure of convergence of gap hydrostatic pressure seal and the multi-angle model is divided into two groups to discuss.Then the models of multi-cone angle would be established. Using Fluent software, a three-dimensional numerical simulation of the pressure-velocity coupling was preformed for the liquid film of the multi-cone angel convergence seal gap and the sealing performance of different model parameters were calculated in the different working conditions, such as opening force and leakage. The effect of sealing structure parameters and operation parameters of multi-cone angle convergence gap hydrostatic pressure seal on sealing performance was analyzed, while identifying some changes in the general law of sealing performance, and two types of cone angle on the sealing performance of the model were compared.In a word, as the computational fluid dynamics, finite volume method to the theoretical basis,the paper deeply study multi-cone angle convergence gap hydrostatic pressure seal, and two types of convergence hydrostatic seal model gap parameters are calculated, such as opening force and leakage. We can get some conclusions and rules from the intuitive charts which were drawled by some software, and the results which had got were analyzed and contrasted. This dissertation offers theoretical support for the engineering design and application and a theoretical basis is made for the further study such as the optimization of seal structural and improvement of sealing performance.
