Development Of X-ray Thickness Gauge For Plastic Film

A thickness gauge plays an important role in the plastic film product lines. Its accuracy determines the products' quality .Most of thickness gauges using in domestic film product lines are imported, this gives a lot of inconveniences for maintainning,operation and cost,however,thickness gauges which made in China have some shortcomings ,such as poor accuracy and function.This paper gives a detailed introduction about our developing and designing process for X-ray thickness gauge using in biaxial oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film.Firstly, this paper describes the hardware system of the X-ray thickness gauge, explains the composition and principle of every hardware part, including five parts: emission device, reception device, mechanically-driven structure, control system and operation terminal. This part puts an important on explaining the control composition and control function design. By describing the hardware system, the thickness gauge's characteristics and strong points is given out.Secondly, this paper also describes the monitoring software system of this device.
