Objective:To understand the current situation of innovative behavior of nurses in wards of tertiary general hospitals in China,to construct and verify the influence mechanism theory of innovative behavior of nurses from the perspective of sense of control, and to construct an intervention program, and to test its feasibility and preliminary effect,so as to provide a scientific basis for enriching the theory of innovative behavior of nurses, strengthening innovative behavior of nurses, improving the quality of nursing service and promoting the development of nursing discipline.Methods:(1)Through literature review, the relationship among individual factors, work factors and organizational factors influencing nurses’ innovative behavior was clarified, and the theoretical model of nurses’ innovative behavior based on the perspective of sense of control was preliminarily constructed.(2)A total of 3659 registered ward nurses from 18 third-level general hospitals in 9 provinces/ municipalities in eastern, central and western China were selected as the research subjects.and the innovative behavior scale of nurses, psychological capital questionnaire, nurses’ organizational support questionnaire and job control scale were used for the investigation. The structural equation model was used to test the theoretical model.(3)To form the intervention program of perceived job control of nurses for the purpose of improving the innovative behavior of nurses, which was verified and established by the expert meeting method;(4)A tertiary general hospital in Shanghai was selected for the preliminary application of the intervention program of perceived job control of nurses, and its effect and feasibility were preliminarily evaluated,so as to provide a basis for innovative practice management of nursing care.Results:(1)The scores of innovation behavior, perceived job control, psychological capital, perceived organizational support of nurses in the tertiary general hospitals in China were generally in the middle level,in which the scores of perceived job control is low.The scores of innovation behavior, perceived job control, psychological capital and sense of organizational support of nurses in the western region were lower than those in the central and eastern regions.(2)Perceived job control and psychological capital had a direct positive effect on the innovation behavior of nurses, and the perceived organizational support of nurses had an indirect positive effect on the innovation behavior of nurses, and the whole model can explain the 47.2 % of nurses’ innovation behavior of nurses.Among them, the effect of job control on nurses’ innovative behavior is the greatest(0.487),which is higher than that of organizational support(0.381)and psychological capital(0.434).(3)The preliminary application results of the intervention program showed that the intervention can improve the level of nurses’ sense perceived job control, and it was effective for nurses to obtain the support dimension in innovative behaviors. In addition, nurses have a good acceptance of the program, positive overall evaluation and good feasibility of the intervention program. The preliminary application results of the intervention program showed that the intervention can improve the nurses’ sense of work control and was effective in the dimension of obtaining support in nurses’ innovative behavior, and the nurses had good acceptance of the scheme, positive overall evaluation and strong feasibility of the scheme. Conclusion: The innovation behavior of nurses in tertiary general hospitals in China is still at the middle level, and there is still much room for improvement. The theoretical model of nurses’ innovative behavior based on the perspective of sense of control clearly showed that organizational support, psychological capital and job control have a positive effect on the innovation behavior of nurses, and the nurses’ perceived job control is one of the key factors. The intervention program of job control for the purpose of improving innovative behavior can improve nurses’ perceived job control level, and had a certain positive effect on nurses’ innovative behavior, and its applicability and feasibility have been preliminarily verified.
