The Study Of The Contemporary Chinese Herbal Treatment Of Psoriasis Which Based On Data Mining

PURPOSEDisease-syndrome Integration is the major medical model of chinese medicine. Pathogenesis revealed by Syndrome is the key process in Holistic Diagnosis and Treatment. Clarifying the basic characteristics of the pathogenesis of psoriasis and its theories, therapeutic principles, formulae and herbal medicines, would be able to effectively improve efficacy. Literature study found that viewpoints of both ancient and modern doctors were basically the same, of which mainly in the Blood status, Lung, Spleen and Kidney were related mostly to psoriasis, followed by heart and liver. But there are some discrepancies in symptom descriptions, controversies in therapeutic principle and preferences in prescriptions. Therefore, effective psoriasis prescriptions of experienced doctors are collected in this article. FP-Growth Association Rule Analysis was undergone in order to discover new knowledge, reveal effective herbal prescription, such that a step forward in clinical and research field could be made.METHODSData of psoriasis medical records were collected and organized from database CNKI (from February 1988 to November 2014). Based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, a database was established. Before performing data mining and statistical analysis, data pre-handling such as name specification, typos corrected, standardized medical terminology, to find the original data preprocessing methods were proceeded.323 qualified psoriasis medical records were collected and saved in Medcase V3.2 Software. Data standardization and cleaning up procedures were repeatedly done. After 95 clinical symptoms were standardized with accumulated 1247 times of standardization, Medical Record Data Mining Platform composed of strategic templates was established, of which multiple data mining methods, with functions of collecting, storing, organizing and analyzing were featured. In Medcase V3.2 Software, Medcase Record Mining System, FP-Growth Association Rule Analaysis Model, Association Rule Analysis Platform, Xminer Operation Tool and FP-Growth Association Rule Analysis were performed. According to the statistical analysis, conclusions of psoriasis medical records which explained by Chinese medicine theory could be drawn in terms of tongue condition, pulses condition, therapeutic principle and medicine.RESULTSIn frequency analysis, high-frequency symptoms in the psoriasis medical records included mainly silvery white scaly, spotting, film phenomenon, red papules, itching, hard stool, thirst, yellowish urine, poor sleeping, upset and anorexia. High-frequency tongue conditions occurred were red, light red, dark red, thin white coating, thin yellow coating, followed by yellow coating, white coating, yellow greasy coating, little coating and white greasy coating. High-frequency pulse conditions occurred were thin(细),taut(弦),rapid(数),smooth(滑), deep (沉),followed by weak(弱),moderate(缓),unsmooth(涩),floating(浮).High-frequency therapeutic principles occurred in the psoriasis medical records included mainly clearing away heat (清热),cooling blood(凉血),detoxicating (解毒),activating blood(活血),dispersing wind(疏风),nourishing blood (养血),removing stasis (化瘀),Moistening(润燥),nourishing yin(滋阴),termination of itching(止痒),followed by dispersing cold(散寒),warm yang(温阳),(利湿),dampness percolating(渗湿),dispersing stagnant liver qi(疏肝),and spleen strengthening (健脾).This research found that flexible therapeutic principles were applied by the contemporary practitioners to cope with complicated situation in treating psoriasis.High-frequency herbal medicines occurred in the medical records were mainly Radix Rehmanniae(生地黄)、Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis(甘草)、Dictamni Radicis Cortex(白鲜皮)> Radix Angelicae sinensis (当归)、Moutan Radicis Cortex(牡丹皮)、Rhizoma Smilacis glabrae(土茯苓).. Paeoniae Rubra Radix(赤芍)、radix arnebiae (紫草)、Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix(丹参)、Lonicerae Flos(金银花)、Scutellariae Baicalensis Radix (黄芩)、Forsythiae Suspensae Fructus(连翘), Fructus Kochiae(地肤子)、Radix Saposhnikoviae divaricatae(防风)、Radix et Caulis Jixueteng (鸡血藤)。High frequency herbal medicine could be categorized in blood-cooling medicine(凉血药),blood-activating medicine(活血药),heat-clearing detoxicating medicine(清热解毒药),heat-clearing dampness-drying medicine(清热燥湿药),according to the classification in the textbook of Chinese Material Medica written by Z.Q. LEI, published by Shanghai Scientific and Technical Publishers.In the Medicine Internal Association Rule, there are 12 pairing use like 1. Radix Rehmanniae and Paeoniae Rubra Radix (生地黄、赤芍)；2. Paeoniae Rubra Radix and Moutan Radicis Cortex(赤芍、牡丹皮)；3. Radix Rehmanniae and Moutan Radicis Cortex(生地黄、牡丹皮)；4. Radix Rehmanniae and Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis(生地黄、甘草)；5. Rhizoma Smilacis glabrae and Dictamni Radicis Cortex(土茯苓、白鲜皮)；6. Radix Angelicae sinensis and Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis(当归、甘草)；7. Radix Rehmanniae and Rhizoma Smilacis glabrae(生地黄、土茯苓)；8. Radix Rehmanniae and Dictamni Radicis Cortex(生地黄、白鲜皮)；9. Radix Angelicae sinensis and Dictamni Radicis Cortex(当归、白鲜皮); 10. Moutan Radicis Cortex and Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (牡丹皮、甘草)；11. Dictamni Radicis Cortex and Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis(白鲜皮、甘草)；12. Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis and Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis (赤芍、甘草)。CONCLUSIONBy performing statistical analysis and association rule analysis of those 323 qualified medical records of contemporary renowned Chinese medicine practitioners, the results were aligned with both the traditional knowledge and current clinical practice, proving that using data mining method in medical records is effective and realistic. At the same time, new knowledge could be found. The expectation of knowledge discovery was achieved and implicit knowledge which is released could be used in clinical reference.
