Study On The Optimization Strategy Of Distribution Center Site Selection For Y Based On K-means Clustering Method

In a company’s supply chain system,a distribution center is an important hub that connects product supply with market demand.As a fast-growing FMCG food manufacturer with expected sales growth of up to 30% in the current market environment,the existing logistics system is unable to meet the demanding delivery time requirements of customers.The inherent contradiction between delivery time and delivery cost makes the unilateral pursuit of delivery time inevitably lead to an increase in delivery cost.In this paper,a series of studies are carried out on the strategy of distribution center location optimization,taking enterprise Y as the research object.Firstly,this paper analyses the factors influencing the location of distribution centers and the characteristics of the K-means clustering algorithm,and introduces a distribution center location optimization strategy based on the K-means clustering algorithm;secondly,the background of the distribution center location optimization of enterprise Y,the implementation of the K-means clustering algorithm and the required data collection and collation methods are sorted out and studied,based on which a Through the comparative analysis of the numerical simulation results,it was concluded that the distribution center optimization strategy of enterprise Y was to optimize the existing 61 office warehouses and adjust them to 16,and to select office warehouses for distribution to suitable distributors,and the feasibility of the model was strongly illustrated through the expected benefit analysis.Finally,some suggestions are made to ensure the smooth implementation of the site selection target in four aspects: warehouse construction,cost control,information technology and segmentation implementation.In summary,this paper provides an optimization idea and methodological guidance for the distribution center location optimization strategy of Enterprise Y,enabling it to gradually establish a distribution network to support the growth of its business operations and achieve cost reduction and efficiency gains.It also provides a good example for similar companies to follow in their distribution center location optimization.
