Abstract/Summary:
The core issue in the history of human development has always been reflected in the aspect of economy in the long history of mankind.Besides, economic issues are also the fundamental issues in the long history of human liberation, since the liberation of mankind from nature and society has been constantly promoted by the process of economic development. One of the issues that Marx has focused on throughout his life is economic liberation. The theoretical foundation for Marx’s economic emancipation thought has been laid by the historical materialism,Marx’s view of freedom, and the theory of scientific socialism. The practical guiding significance of Marx’s economic liberation thought developed under the specific era background is embodied both at that time and in the contemporary era.Having always stood on the position of the impoverished masses,Marx had tried to seek the path of liberation from various aspects of economy, politics, and spirit, which is not difficult to be seen. What he firstly paid attention to is the fundamental and historical issue of economic liberation.Five major connotations are included in Marx’s economic liberation: such as the liberation of the proletariat from poverty;the liberation of the proletariat from private ownership;letting the bourgeoisie also liberate itself from the domination of private ownership;the economic liberation of all mankind;and the liberation of productive forces.Firstly, according to the opinion of Marx, the proletariat with the features of progressiveness, revolutionary, organizational and disciplinary natures is the main force to achieve economic liberation. The unity of all proletariats to overthrow the brutal oppression of the bourgeoisie and set up their own political power is necessary. As the political guarantee for realizing economic liberation, the dictatorship of the proletariat cannot be separated from the material foundation provided by the development of productive forces.Secondly, since an important reason for social inequality is caused by the old division of labor under the conditions of private ownership,it is necessary to eliminate private ownership to realize economic liberation. The necessity of achieving economic liberation is demonstrated by Marx’s thought on economic liberation, and the ultimate goal of economic liberation is also pointed out from the premise of realistic human beings: that is,realize the free and comprehensive development of everyone.Thirdly,Marx never overlooked the role of other non economic factors while putting an emphasis on the fundamental and decisive role of economic factors in the process of social development. The relationship between economic liberation and political liberation, labor liberation, and human liberation was demonstrated by Marx,so a theoretical and practical bridge was built for achieving the free and comprehensive development of mankind. Finally, the contemporary value of Marx’s economic emancipation thought is explored through the combination of the current era background and theme, and the practical guiding significance of Marx’s economic liberation thought is summarized.
