| Along with the level of digital technology such as big data,cloud computing and the Internet of Things,China’s digital economy development level is constantly improving,the digital economy has promoted the integration of various industries,improve the quality of life,the digital economy has become an important engine of China’s economic development of high quality.At the same time,the scale of service trade exports continues to expand,has become an important part of China’s economic growth,but there are still problems such as unreasonable export structure and weak competitiveness of service trade exports,China is currently in the stage of high-speed economic growth to high-quality development,and there are some difficulties in the development of international trade.Therefore,in the stage of economic transformation,in order to seize the opportunities brought by the digital economy,it is particularly important to explore how the digital economy affects the competitiveness of service trade exports,which is important to improve the structure of China’s service trade exports and enhance the competitiveness of China’s service trade exports to promote the development of service trade.This paper firstly compares the measurement methods of digital economy and service trade export competitiveness by reading relevant domestic and foreign studies,and introduces the concept of digital economy and the influencing factors of service trade export competitiveness.Secondly,through data collection and collation,we understand the current situation of digital economy and service trade export in China,and on this basis,we explore the influence mechanism of digital economy on service trade export competitiveness.Subsequently,based on the data of 31 provinces in China from 2011-2020,a comprehensive evaluation index system of digital economy is constructed from four different dimensions of digital foundation,digital industrialization,industrial digitization and digital innovation,and the development level of digital economy of each service trade industry in China is measured by using principal component analysis.Further,by establishing an empirical model,the influence of digital economy on the export competitiveness of service trade is explored by using fixed effects,while industry heterogeneity analysis is carried out from traditional service trade and modern service trade,and the indirect influence of digital economy on the export competitiveness of service trade is studied by introducing human capital and technological innovation as mediating variables.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn.(1)China’s digital economy development level and service trade export scale both maintain a good upward trend,and the comprehensive digital economy score and export competitiveness of China’s traditional service trade are higher than those of modern service trade,among which the comprehensive digital economy score and export competitiveness of telecommunication,computer and information services are improving at the fastest rate.(2)Based on the empirical regression results,it is found that the digital economy can significantly improve the export competitiveness of service trade,and the results of industry heterogeneity analysis reveal that the digital economy has a more significant effect on promoting modern service trade.(3)The intermediary effect analysis finds that technological innovation and human capital play a part in the intermediary role in the digital economy for the improvement of service trade export competitiveness,indicating that the digital economy in improving service trade export competitiveness is partly achieved by promoting technological innovation and human capital improvement. |
