| China cannot achieve modernisation without modernising its agriculture. The core of agricultural modernisation lies in science and technology, and the development of the new era should place agricultural science and technology in a more prominent position.Agricultural science and technology parks are the main position to promote agricultural science and technology innovation, and the construction of national agricultural science and technology parks is the "top priority".The construction and development of national agricultural science and technology parks is of great significance to the promotion of agricultural mechanization and intelligence, the transformation of agricultural development and the realization of agricultural modernization.Based on this, this paper focuses on the question "What makes an agricultural science and technology park successful?" From the perspective of histories,an analysis framework of the innovation quadruple helix theory of"government-enterprise-university-public" is constructed based on the quadruple helix theory and stakeholder theory, which includes five analysis variables:park itself, government support, university R&D,enterprise operation and public participation, and 40 The study combines Qualitative Comparative Analysis(QCA)and Necessary Condition Analysis(NCA)to explore the multiple and concurrent factors affecting the success of agricultural science and technology parks and their internal logical relationships, and to sort out the paths to success of agricultural science and technology parks. The study also explores the multiple concurrent factors affecting the success of agricultural science and technology parks and their internal logical relationships,so as to sort out the paths to success of agricultural science and technology parks. This paper will not only help to enhance the competitiveness of the parks themselves and promote their development to a new level, but also help to meet the needs of the agricultural supply-side reform in the new era and accelerate the modernization of China’s agriculture, and has important theoretical value in revealing the development laws behind the success of the parks. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:First,a single element cannot be a necessary condition to influence the success of an agricultural science and technology park;the success of an agricultural science and technology park is the result of interconnection and win-win cooperation among multiple innovation subjects.Secondly, this paper has identified the following factors:"government-supported","university-operated","enterprise-operated","superior conditions",and "successful cooperation of multiple subjects".The paper has obtained five combinations of paths that influence the success of agricultural science and technology parks:"government-supported","university-run","enterprise-operated","superior conditions" and "successful cooperation of multiple subjects".Thirdly,by comparing the elements of the different paths,it is found that although public participation plays a smaller role in influencing the success of agricultural science and technology parks, considering that serving society is one of the main functions of agricultural science and technology parks, the establishment of an effective interaction mechanism between parks and the public is still an issue that cannot be ignored.Based on the above findings, this paper proposes four policy recommendations to help promote the development of agricultural science and technology parks, based on the perspective of the park stakeholders. In addition, the main contribution of this paper is to deepen the understanding of the multiple combinations of concurrent factors that contribute to the success of agro-technology parks in different regions, and to provide lessons for the success of the same types of parks. |
