Research On The Relationship Between Knowledge Network Embedding,Knowledge Search And Management Innovation

Management innovation is an inexhaustible driving force for the long-term development of organizations.Management innovation can not only promote the organization to solve internal management problems,but also promote the organization to keep in line with the external environment,how to comprehensively understand management innovation and promote its implementation efficiency has been the focus of academic and practical circles.Due to the limited resources of enterprises,many enterprises choose to embed themselves in "knowledge networks" to obtain more information and knowledge when implementing management innovation.Most of the existing studies have examined the impact of knowledge network embeddednes on technological innovation and innovation performance,while neglecting its important role in managing innovation.The existing studies on management innovation are mostly unidimensional variables,which are difficult to show the whole picture of management innovation.In this paper,we explore the relationship between knowledge network structural embeddedness and knowledge network relational embeddedness on dual management innovation in terms of knowledge network embeddedness characteristics.In addition,knowledge network embedding can provide opportunities or constraints for knowledge search activities of enterprises.In this paper,we incorporate knowledge search into the model of knowledge network embedding and dual management innovation,and construct a conceptual framework of knowledge network embedding,knowledge search and dual management innovation.Management innovation needs to rely on the transformation and utilization of knowledge by the firm,and this paper introduces the realized absorptive capacity and examines the moderating role of realized absorptive capacity between knowledge search and dual management innovation.The research helps companies understand how to facilitate the implementation of different management innovations and helps them select and coordinate the type of management innovation according to the situation they are facing.This study uses questionnaire survey method to collect data and regression analysis method and qualitative comparative analysis method to explore the impact of knowledge network embedding on management innovation with enterprise managers as the main respondents.First,this study empirically examines the effect of knowledge network embedding on dual management innovation and the mediating effect of knowledge search between knowledge network embedding and dual management innovation,and considers the moderating effect of actual absorptive capacity between knowledge search and dual management innovation.Second,this study uses fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis to explore the grouping paths of multiple combinations of conditions that lead to dual management innovation.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Both knowledge network structure embedding and relationship embedding positively contribute to dual management innovation;the effect of knowledge network structure embedding on technology-based knowledge search is not significant,but positively affects market-based knowledge search;Knowledge network relationship embedding positively promotes technology-based and market-based knowledge search;knowledge search positively promotes dual management innovation.(2)Technology-based knowledge search doesn’t play a mediating role in the structural embedding of knowledge networks and exploitative/exploratory management innovations;Technology-based knowledge search plays a mediating role in knowledge network relationship embedding and dual management innovation;Market-based knowledge search plays a mediating role between knowledge network structure embedding and dual management innovation;Market-based knowledge search plays a mediating role between knowledge network relationship embedding and dual management innovation.(3)Realized absorptive capacity positively moderates the relationship between technology-based knowledge search and exploitative management innovation,while the positive moderating effect between technology-based knowledge search and exploratory management innovation is not significant;Realized absorptive capacity positively moderates the relationship between market-based knowledge search and exploitative/exploratory management innovation.(4)The synergistic role of multiple factors behind exploitative/exploratory management innovation,and the fact that no single factor is necessary to facilitate dual management innovation.(5)There are 3 different driving paths for both exploitative Management Innovation and explorative Management Innovation.The main innovations of this study are:(1)the results of the empirical and qualitative analyses in this study enrich and expand the antecedent framework of factors influencing management innovation;(2)enriching the theoretical system of knowledge network embedding and expanding the study of antecedent variables of knowledge search;(3)exploring the grouping effect that leads to dual management innovation,which helps us to have a deeper understanding of the whole picture of management innovation.
