Abstract/Summary:
With the continuous development of society and economy, the average life expectancy of the population increases rapidly, and population aging has become a global trend.By 2050,the proportion of the world’s population aged 65 and over is expected to rise to 20 per cent,or 1.6 billion.Aging,as a major global problem,is gradually highlighted in our country. At the same time, under the background of the shortage of aged care resources,it is particularly important to introduce artificial intelligence technology into the field of the elderly,so that intelligent old-age care based on robot becomes an important means to alleviate the old-age problems in our country. However,in the process of using intelligent elderly care robots, there are some ethical issues such as privacy disclosure, damage to dignity, influence on social interaction, which will affect users’ willingness to use intelligent elderly care robots. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the influencing factors of users’ use of intelligent elderly care robots from the perspective of ethics,so as to promote the development of intelligent elderly care.In this paper,value-sensitive design is combined with perceived value theory and technology acceptance and utilization model to build a willingness model of stakeholders to use intelligent elderly care robots. The model includes three principal variables and two moderating variables, and the principal variables include perceived ethical value, social ethical value and convenience. The perceived ethical value is divided into five dimensions, such as privacy, autonomy, emotion, sociability and dignity, while the social ethical value is divided into two dimensions, namely social justice and social welfare. The moderating variables include age and education level. On this basis, empirical research and tripartite iterative process are carried out.Through empirical research, this paper draws the following conclusions: 1)the privacy value, autonomy value, social value, emotional value and dignity value of perceived ethical values have significant positive effects on usage intention;2)The value of social welfare and the value of social justice among the values of social ethics have a significant positive effect on the intention to use;3)Perceived ease of use in convenience conditions has a significant positive effect on usage intention;4)Age and education level do not have significant influence on the willingness to use.Based on the above conclusions, suggestions on the ethical development of intelligent aged care robots are put forward.
