| Since 1992 marketization reform,especially after joining WTO,Chinese foreign trade develops rapidly,becoming the first trade country in the world.Although China’s export trade scale and growth has been steady in the world leading position,but for a long time the export products of Chinese enterprises are not high quality,low added value problems.In 2020,the Financial and Economic Commission of the CPC Central Committee proposed to speed up the improvement of the large unified domestic market,create a virtuous cycle of mutual promotion of supply and demand and the development of production and sales,shape a market-oriented,law-based and international business environment,and strengthen the role of competition policies.In the same year,in the 14 th Five-Year Plan and 2035 vision goals,the central government also stressed the need to improve market integration and other mechanisms to improve the quality of export products.Based on the research on the integration of existing domestic and foreign markets and the quality of export products,this paper combs and reviews the literature to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the research,sorts out the framework of the paper and seeks the breakthrough point of the paper.This paper introduces and defines the concepts of market integration and export product quality,summarizes the previous studies to find the commonalities,and then deduces the logic of the article,explores the influence mechanism of market integration on export product quality,collects relevant data for empirical analysis,and finally analyzes the specific enterprises.By selecting the data of 30 provinces and municipalities(except Tibet)from 2005 to 2020 as samples,the empirical study found that,although the domestic market integration level declined in some individual years,it maintained an upward trend on the whole during 2005-2020.At the same time,the quality of export products continues to improve,and the overall spatial pattern of distribution presents a decline from east to west.Domestic market integration has a significant positive impact on the quality of export products.At the industry level,market integration has the most prominent effect on the quality of export products in technologyintensive industries,while labor-intensive industries and capital-intensive industries are relatively weak.At the regional level,market integration in the eastern and western regions has a significant positive impact on the quality of export products,while market integration in the central region has a slightly weak effect on the quality of export products.Market integration can promote the quality of export products through transmission mechanisms such as consumption promotion effect,technological innovation effect and system improvement effect.Among them,the mechanism of market integration promoting the quality improvement of export products through consumption is the most effective,while the intermediary role of domestic market integration through technological innovation and institutional improvement is relatively small.Market integration has a significant positive spillover effect on the quality of export products,and the diffusion effect brought by market integration is a great siphon effect. |
