| In the new competitive situation,open innovation has brought opportunities and challenges to enterprises in developing countries,and enterprises of all sizes and industries have significantly increased their attention to open innovation and R&D networks.In order to break the traditional closed organizational boundaries,get closer to local markets,obtain regional R&D resources,introduce external innovation forces,and achieve technology monitoring and tracking,many domestic enterprises have dispersed their R&D subsidiaries outside the location of their parent company,thereby making more extensive use of external knowledge and network resources,promoting the diffusion and sharing of various types of information,and achieving a steady increase in trust and cooperation.However,whether such organizational geographical boundary expansion behavior and decentralized R&D activities can improve innovation performance remains to be tested,and the specific impact mechanism remains to be explored.This article uses bibliometrics method and citation content analysis to sort out and summarize the relevant concepts,literature content,influencing factors,and mechanisms of enterprise R&D network decentralization,absorptive capacity,and innovation performance.Based on resource-based theory,open innovation theory,and absorptive capacity theory,this article constructs a conceptual model and proposes research assumptions.According to the open innovation theory,enterprises should break through local R&D networks to obtain external innovation resources,utilize ultra local markets to carry out R&D activities,and improve innovation performance further.According to resource-based theory,the layout of ultra local R&D networks is conducive to enterprise resource management activities,which in turn affects enterprise R&D innovation.The theory of absorptive capacity explains the relationship between enterprise resources,capabilities,and performance.It believes that the decentralization of R&D networks can help enterprises digest and apply external resources,stimulate enterprises to optimize resource allocation and improve absorptive capacity,and ultimately achieve innovation and value enhancement.This article takes 212 listed companies in China’s computer,communication,and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries from 2014 to 2021 as a sample,and through correlation analysis,regression analysis and robustness test,explores the impact of R&D network layout on enterprise innovation performance,the mediation role of absorptive capacity in it and the moderation effect of knowledge base.The research finds that the larger the R&D network and the relative concentration have a positive impact on enterprise innovation performance.The absorptive capacity plays a partial mediation role between R&D network layout and innovation performance.The knowledge base positively moderates the relationship between R&D network layout and absorptive capacity,and indirectly improves the innovation performance of enterprises through absorptive capacity.The research conclusion enriches the mechanism path for enterprises to improve innovation performance and provides a reference for enterprises to rationally lay out R&D networks. |
