Research On The Impact Of Digital Input On The Three Margin Of China’s Manufacturing Export

With the rapid development of modern information technology and the integration and penetration of digital economy in traditional industries,the field of international trade has undergone multi-directional,systematic and deep-seated changes.The production mode of the manufacturing industry has undergone tremendous changes,gradually shifting from the traditional industrial mode to the intelligent manufacturing in the period of digital economy.The concept of digital input in the manufacturing industry is generated under the background of deep integration of informatization and industrialization.Based on this concept and the theory of three marginal growth of exports,with the OECD input-output data and export trade data of 15 manufacturing industries in China from 2005 to 2018,this thesis deeply studies the influence of digital input on the three margin of manufacturing export,and describes the change trajectory of China’s manufacturing export trade.Firstly,expounds the connotation of digital input and analyzes the present situation of Chinese manufacturing industry digital input and export trade.Secondly,analyzes the basic logic of how the digital input affecting the three margin of Chinese manufacturing export from the theoretical point of view.Finally,uses the double fixed effect measurement model to test the marginal influence of digital input on Chinese manufacturing exports.The results show that digital input can promote the increase of quantity margin and expansion margin of manufacturing industry,but restrain the increase of price margin.After analyzing the heterogeneity of digitalization input from different sources and industries with different technology levels,it is found that only the digital input from domestic sources significantly promotes the growth of quantity marginal and expansion marginal of Chinese manufacturing industry,and inhibits the rise of price marginal.The same conclusion only exists in middle-high technology manufacturing industries.According to the research conclusions,corresponding policies and measures are proposed from the aspects of guiding manufacturing enterprises to increase digital input and strengthening domestic digital input,so as to encourage potential manufacturing industries to increase digital input,and to speed up the transformation and upgrading of China’s foreign trade,then step forward to become a trade power.
