At present,Chinese grain production is facing severe challenges such as resource constraint tightening and low yield of grain production.“Who plants grain” and “how to plant grain” have become urgent problems to be solved to ensure our food security. On the one hand, the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization leads to a large number of rural population shifting to non-agricultural sectors, agricultural labor force factors begin to be transformed into “hollowing out” and “aging”.On the other hand, the continuous increase in the cost of grain production, such as agricultural materials, has seriously weakened the enthusiasm of farmers to plant grain. In some areas, the phenomenon of abandoned farmland or even abandoned farmland has posed a great threat to our food security. As a new factor of production, the socialized service of agriculture can effectively alleviate the labor force constraint, technical constraint and capital constraint of our agricultural management. Then how does the influence of socialized service of agriculture on food production in the actual production? What is the mechanism of the influence? The effects of socialized agricultural services on grain production of different types of farmers and the effects of socialized services of different types of links on grain production remain to be further studied.Exploring the above problems has important theoretical and practical significance for promoting the government to improve the relevant policies of agricultural socialization service and ensuring national food security. On the basis of defining the core concepts of agricultural socialized service, grain production capacity and production efficiency, and guided by the division of labor theory, farmer behavior theory, induced technological change theory and other related theories, this paper firstly constructed and formed a theoretical analysis framework of the impact of agricultural socialized service on farmers’ grain production.Secondly, based on 575 microsurvey data of farmers in the main grain producing areas of Henan Province, descriptive statistical analysis was made on the adoption of agricultural socialized services and the current situation of grain production in the study area.Thirdly, the stochastic frontier model was used to measure the grain production efficiency in the study area. Finally, using a variety of econometric models such as C-D production function,Tobit model and PSM model, this paper empirically analyzed the impact of agricultural socialized service on farmers’ food production and its influence mechanism, and further discussed from the perspective of farmers’ heterogeneity and link heterogeneity. The results showed that:(1)The adoption of social services in different production links was different, and the number of adopters in descending order was: machine harvest, machine tillage, machine sowing, plant protection, irrigation and processing links;Different types of farmers also have certain differences in the adoption of social services.Compared with small farmers,large-scale farmers have a higher proportion of agricultural social services.(2)The stochastic frontier model was used to measure the grain production efficiency of farmers. It was found that the grain production efficiency of farmers in the sample area was between 0.5 and 0.7,and the average efficiency was 0.61,indicating that there was still a large room for improvement in grain production efficiency.(3)Agricultural socialization service is conducive to the improvement of farmers’ grain production capacity. The link heterogeneity analysis showed that the social services of different links had different effects on the improvement of farmers’ grain production capacity.Compared with technology-intensive services, the social services of labor-intensive links had greater effect on the improvement of farmers’ grain production capacity. The analysis of peasant household heterogeneity showed that agricultural socialized service had different effects on grain production capacity of different types of peasant households.Compared with small farmers, agricultural socialized service had greater effect on grain production capacity of large scale households.(4)Socialized agricultural services on the whole are conducive to the improvement of farmers’ grain production efficiency. From the perspective of influence mechanism, agricultural socialization service mainly promotes the improvement of farmers’ grain production efficiency by promoting farmland transfer, household division of labor, increase of farmers’ income and increase of factor utilization.Based on the above conclusions, this paper thinks that we should further improve the construction of agricultural socialized service system;Strengthen policy support,in finance, tax, insurance, credit and other aspects of social service subjects to give certain support; We will actively promote whole-process mechanization through fiscal subsidies and technical support, further improve the standardization of technology-intensive services, and improve service quality.
