| With the combined effect of multiple factors such as social and economic development,accelerated urbanization,and urban pull and rural push,the aging process of my country’s agricultural labor force is accelerating.The aging of the agricultural labor force poses severe challenges to agricultural production.One of them is that the production and management capabilities of the aging labor force will be restricted by physiological conditions,which will affect the increase in the income of farmers and the improvement of production efficiency.This paper selects Chinese herbal medicine growers in Shouyang Town,Longxi County,Gansu Province as the research object,discusses the impact of the aging labor force on the income of medicinal farmers,and provides empirical evidence and ideas for local policy formulation to deal with the aging of the agricultural labor force.This paper firstly describes the current situation of the aging agricultural labor force in the sample area in detail,and uses the variance analysis method to study the impact of aging on the cost and income of Chinese herbal medicine planting in the sample households.On this basis,the chi-square test method was used to analyze and evaluate the influence of the improvement of the degree of organization on the increase of the total annual income of Chinese herbal medicine planting for the elderly.Finally,this paper puts forward relevant policy recommendations.This paper draws the following conclusions through research: 1.The aging degree of agricultural labor force in the sample area is relatively serious,and the loss of young and middle-aged labor force is the main reason for the aggravation of the aging process of agricultural labor force.2.The production and cultivation of Chinese medicinal materials is obviously affected by the aging of the labor force.3.The aging of the labor force reduces the benefits of Chinese herbal medicine planting,and the increase of age is positively correlated with the cost of herbal medicine planting,and negatively correlated with the benefits.4.The aging of the labor force in the sample area affects the participation of pharmaceutical farmers in cooperative economic organizations.5.Joining a professional cooperative economic organization will help the aging pharmaceutical farmers to increase their income.Based on the above research results,this paper puts forward the following policy suggestions for improving the efficiency of Chinese herbal medicine production under the background of the aging agricultural labor force:1.Improve the precision of agricultural policies and accelerate the cultivation of high-quality seeds and seedlings.2.Establish and improve a new type of rural cooperative economic organization to guide the rational transfer of land.3.Improve the education level of agricultural labor force and strengthen the training of farmers’ vocational skills.4.Improve the utilization rate of agricultural machinery and equipment,and promote the moderate scale operation of agriculture. |
