Since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001,China has rapidly developed into the world’s largest foreign trade country and established a complete industrial system.However,with the iterative spread of the new coronavirus,the reduction of global tariff levels and the continuous slowdown of economic globalization,unilateralism,national protectionism,industrial protectionism,etc.have resurfaced,and trade frictions between countries and regions have continued.upgrade.China is the world’s largest toy processing and production base,and other countries have a large number of TBTs for the toy industry and are intensively updated.However,the data shows that China’s toy export industry still maintains a strong export growth trend under the intensive TBT restrictions,and its share in the world market continues to increase.Under the above background,this paper takes the toy industry as the research object,and firstly introduces the measurement method of TBT and the mechanism that affects exports,mainly including the following three aspects: First,the implementation of TBT has significantly improved information exchange and reduced consumers’ The cost of choice improves consumer welfare and product stickiness,thereby promoting the development of corporate trade.Second,enterprises with a strong export tendency need to continuously improve product quality and production technology to meet the requirements of technical standards,which is conducive to improving the production efficiency of enterprises,forming product price advantages and promoting the development of enterprise trade.Third,based on the "export learning effect",enterprises need to continuously invest a lot of money to meet higher product standards,which promotes the improvement of production capacity.In the long run,it is conducive to reducing costs and thus promoting enterprise development.Secondly,this paper describes the current situation of TBT implementation and its overall impact on the export of my country’s toy industry.On this basis,it uses the database of Chinese industrial enterprises from 2000 to 2013,the Chinese customs database and the technical trade of the World Trade Organization(hereinafter referred to as WTO).The barrier database examines the influence and mechanism of TBT in promoting the export of toy companies.The results show that TBT significantly promotes the export of toy companies under the control of year and region fixed effects.After dealing with endogeneity,changing the measure of core variables,and testing for heterogeneity,the results remained robust.The test results of its promotion mechanism prove that TBT can promote the export of toy companies,but the trade indicators,economic indicators and financial indicators of toy companies will affect the effect of the promotion,such as the proportion of exports in sales and the proportion of processing trade in total exports,etc.The increase of TBT will enhance the promotion effect of TBT on the export of toy enterprises;the increase of enterprise age,asset-liability ratio and enterprise performance will inhibit the promotion of TBT to the export of toy enterprises.This has guiding significance for other enterprises to adjust their own capital structure and export tendency.
