Under the influence of "big intelligence,mobile cloud",whether and how to carry out digital transformation has become a choice that traditional enterprise needs to face.From the perspective of enterprises,digital transformation affects the value development of enterprises.From the national perspective,digital transformation is an important way for the country to achieve economic development.In the report of the 20th Party Congress,it is mentioned that "China should build a digital industry cluster with international competitiveness." At present,digitalization process continues to accelerate the integration of data and information,reshape the business model.Therefore,in the current environment,how to better carry out digital transformation has become an important topic in the study of corporate behavior.In the current literature on digital transformation and innovation,it has mainly focused on studying the factors of digital transformation in enterprises and the impact of innovation on enterprise performance,etc.There is a lack of a theoretical framework for building managers’ awareness in the digital context.Therefore,this paper investigates how managerial innovation consciousness affects corporate digital transformation and the heterogeneous impact of managerial innovation consciousness on digital transformation in different company characteristic environments from the perspective of managers.Based on the upper echelon theory,the thesis considers the factors affecting the digital transformation from the managers’ perspective.The empirical study are as follows:(1)The relationship between managerial innovation awareness and corporate digital transformation is tested using Chinese A-share listed companies from 2008 to 2020 as the benchmark regression results.The results found a positive correlation among them.(2)Managerial technology familiarity and the degree of corporate financing constraints are moderating factors.It is found that technical familiarity has a positive moderating effect and financing constraints has a negative moderating effect.(3)The heterogeneity of firms’ external and internal environment were analyzed from two perspectives,and the main regressions were grouped for heterogeneity test.The results of the study found that the promotion of managerial innovation consciousness on the digital transformation of enterprises is stronger in enterprises with high market centralization,high digitalization level in the company’s registered region,non-state enterprises,and enterprises with low concentration of management power.This study further enriches the related research on factors affecting the digital transformation of enterprises and complements the related research on this thesis.At the same time,this study can also provide a reference for enterprises to build management teams and develop digital transformation strategies,and provide an important basis for Chinese enterprises to carry out effective digital economy management in the digital economy environment.
