Research On The Integrated Development And Realization Path Of Chengdu Metropolitan Area

Promoting the construction of modern metropolitan areas is an important means of promoting coordinated regional development and advancing the new path of urbanization.In November 2021,the National Development and Reform Commission officially approved the Chengdu Metropolitan Area Development Plan,which marks the Chengdu Metropolitan Area as the first metropolitan area in the central and western regions to be approved by the state.As one of the key growth areas of the twin cities economic circle in the Chengdu-Chongqing region,Greater Chengdu plays an important role in supporting and promoting its high-quality development.Integration is the core connotation and essential feature of the high-quality development of the metropolitan area,and how to improve the integration level of Chengdu metropolitan area is an important task in the current development process of Chengdu metropolitan area.This paper takes the Chengdu metropolitan area as the research object,based on the theory of regional integration development,and uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis on the basis of domestic and foreign literature research to make a more comprehensive and accurate measurement and analysis of the level and process of integration development in the Chengdu metropolitan area,and to provide a data basis for judging the development stage of the Chengdu metropolitan area and formulating policies for the development of the Chengdu metropolitan area by relevant policy makers.Firstly,the study compares the literature and theories related to regional integration and metropolitan area development,clarifies the concept and connotation of metropolitan area integration development,and points out that metropolitan area integration can be defined as a mega-city as the core of regional economic and social development,based on the close connection of economic activities within the metropolitan area,and fully considers the interests of each economic entity to develop the development of inter-city production In this way,the administrative barriers within the metropolitan area can be eliminated and the competitiveness of the metropolitan area as a whole can be improved.Second,based on the concept and meaning of the integrated development of the metropolitan area,we analyze and evaluate seven dimensions of the Chengdu metropolitan area,including economic linkages,market,industry,infrastructure,public services,urban and rural areas,and ecological environment,with emphasis on the core of the integrated development of the metropolitan area,including economic linkages,market,and industrial integration.Third,the metropolitan area integration comprehensive evaluation index system is constructed by selecting indicators from the 6 dimensions as comprehensively as possible,and the integration level of Chengdu metropolitan area in different periods from 2015 to2020 is measured comprehensively and analyzed and evaluated from sub-dimensions and comprehensive perspectives,and combined with the sub-dimensional qualitative analysis in Chapter 3 to put forward the main problems faced in the development of Chengdu metropolitan area integration.Fourth,combining the evaluation and analysis of the integration of Chengdu metropolitan area and the development problems,and drawing on the development experiences of four mature metropolitan areas at home and abroad,New York,Tokyo,Shanghai,and Guangzhou,we propose,in a targeted manner,to promote the opening of a unified market,collaborative industrial development,infrastructure interconnection,and equalization of public services,consolidate the integrated development of urban-rural and ecological environment,enhance the competitiveness of metropolitan area cities,and establish a sound institutional mechanism,etc.The path to promote the integrated development process of Chengdu metropolitan area.
