During China’s rapid economic and social development, the quality of life of rural areas and farmers has been significantly improved, showing a new era of new rural climate. However,at the same time, rural areas are also facing serious aging problems;the function of rural land security is weakened by the reduction of rural arable land area and the quality of arable land;China has been adjusting its fertility policy in recent years, and the current rural family structure is generally in the form of 4-2-2 or 4-2-3,with young people having to bear the double pressure of support and maintenance;the continuous promotion of urbanization has led to the inflow of a large number of young rural laborers to cities, which gradually With the continuous urbanization,a large number of young rural laborers flow into the cities and gradually weaken the family concept, which undoubtedly aggravates the problem of rural old-age care, and the state and society are highly concerned about rural social old-age care. The State Council promulgated the Opinions of the State Council on Establishing a Unified Basic Pension Insurance System for Urban and Rural Residents in 2014,and the basic pension insurance system for urban and rural residents began to be implemented and developed rapidly, but during the development period, the problem of farmers choosing lower contribution levels was exposed. This is not conducive to the construction and development of pension funds and even limits the development of the system. For this reason, the analysis of farmers’ contributions is important for social development and individual pension needs. In this paper, while using the literature analysis method,we also obtained detailed data through a questionnaire survey, and selected Shenyang City,Liaoning Province as the survey area to understand the detailed situation through field research. The questionnaire survey data were summarized to clarify the specific situation of rural residents’ contributions at this stage, and it was found that there is a general situation that rural residents choose a lower contribution level. After that, using the ordered logistic regression model,we conducted an empirical study on the factors influencing the choice of contribution level with the dependent variable of "urban and rural residential insurance" and the related influencing factors as independent variables, and drew relevant conclusions and proposed policy suggestions and countermeasures to moderately improve the choice of rural residents’ contribution level. The research methods of this paper mainly involve literature research method, questionnaire survey method, empirical analysis method and inductive analysis method. The findings of this paper are: literacy, arable land area, annual personal income, pension worry, government pension expectation and policy understanding have certain influence on rural residents’ choice of contribution level.Suggestions are made to improve farmers’ contribution levels in response to the findings of the study.
