With the increasing integration of the global economy and the diversification of customer needs, competition in the manufacturing industry is becoming more and more intense. In order to gain an advantage in the competitive market, manufacturing companies have started to implement a service transformation strategy, moving from product production and sales to a "product + service" model in order to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty, thereby effectively differentiating themselves from other competitors.Current research has addressed the impact of servitization on firm performance, but the results have been inconsistent.Meanwhile, supply chain management has become an important way for manufacturing firms to cope with market uncertainty and gain competitive advantage, and firms at supply chain nodes are increasingly aware of the significance of cooperation with their upstream and downstream suppliers and customers, but few studies have discussed the relevance of servitization strategies for manufacturing firms to supply chain contextual factors.Based on the general environment of servitization development of manufacturing enterprises, and this thesis based on previous research, starts from supply chain contextual factors, based on value chain theory, resource dependency theory and transaction cost theory, combines supply chain management with servitization, introduces variables such as customer involvement, supplier network relationship and supply chain concentration, and aims to analyze the influencing factors of servitization of manufacturing enterprises in the supply chain, the relationship between servitization of manufacturing enterprises and different types of enterprise performance, and the moderating effect of supply chain concentration on the relationship between servitization of manufacturing enterprises and enterprise performance. This paper uses an empirical research method to form research hypotheses through theoretical analysis.1,684 sample data from 253 North American listed manufacturing companies over a fifteen-year period were selected to establish a multivariate hierarchical regression analysis model, and statistical analysis was conducted using the econometric analysis software Stata 16.0 to test the theoretical hypotheses. The findings indicate that(1)customer engagement and supplier network relationships can positively contribute to the servitization transformation of manufacturing firms;(2)An inverted U-shaped relationship between the servitization of manufacturing enterprises and operational performance, which first rises and then falls, and a positive correlation with their market performance;(3)Supply chain concentration significantly moderates the relationship between servitization and the financial and operational performance of manufacturing firms, and insignificantly moderates the relationship between servitization and market performance,Specifically, customer concentration positively moderates the relationship between servitization and corporate financial performance and corporate operational performance, and supplier concentration positively moderates the relationship between servitization and corporate financial performance. This paper discusses the servitization of manufacturing enterprises in the context of supply chain, which is an in-depth study of the existing servitization of manufacturing enterprises, and has a certain reference value for manufacturing enterprises to overcome the barriers of servitization transformation and mitigate the impact of "service paradox",and provides reference for better promoting the implementation of servitization of enterprises.
