Research On The Impact Of Agricultural Insurance Agglomeration On Agricultural Economic Growth In The Yangtze River Delta Region

The fourteen Five-Year Plan is the first five-year period in which to begin a new journey to fully build a modern socialist nation.This five-year period is also crucial to comprehensively promote rural revitalization and accelerate agricultural and rural modernization efforts.As a result,we should vigorously promote rural revitalization and persist in making questions about agriculture,rural areas,and farmers the highest priority in rural construction.The Yangtze River Delta,as one of the areas with the fastest growing economy,with the highest degree of openness and the highest innovation capacity,is also a major production area for a variety of agricultural commodities.The development of the agricultural economy in the Yangtze River Delta region has been severely affected by the onset of global warming and frequent natural disasters.Agricultural insurance,as a major tool for dispersing agricultural risks and economic losses,may well protect farmers’ economic interests,and is an important step in stabilizing agricultural output and development.While the economic linkages between regions are becoming increasingly strong,and a variety of insurance resources are heavily concentrated in regions,gradually forming the insurance agglomeration phenomenon.As a major insurance industry,does agricultural insurance in Yangtze River Delta have the phenomenon of agglomeration of insurance companies? In the context of insurance agglomeration,is it the case that agricultural economic growth in the Yangtze River Delta is promoted by insurance agglomeration? If yes,what is the promotional mechanism? Discussion of these issues is conducive to the continued development of the agricultural economy in the Yangtze River Delta.Based on the above issues,this article starts from the perspective of agricultural insurance agglomeration,analyzes the current development status of agricultural insurance in the Yangtze River Delta region in depth,and takes industrial agglomeration theory,agricultural risk management theory,and regional economic growth theory as guidance.At the same time,it draws on the theoretical research and modeling methods of previous scholars and experts on agricultural insurance agglomeration and agricultural economic growth,Based on panel data of 41 prefecture level cities and municipalities directly under the Central Government in the Yangtze River Delta from 2011 to 2020.Using the location entropy index to measure the level of agricultural insurance agglomeration,and then calculating the Moran index in the Yangtze River Delta region to measure the global spatial autocorrelation and local spatial autocorrelation of agricultural insurance agglomeration,in order to verify the economic significance of agricultural insurance agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta region.Taking the gross agricultural product,farmers’ income,agricultural mechanization level,urbanization rate and fixed assets investment as explanatory variables,and the gross agricultural economic product as the explanatory variables,the static and dynamic panel data empirical models were established to preliminarily analyze the impact of agricultural insurance agglomeration on agricultural economic growth in the Yangtze River Delta.In order to solve the problem of endogeneity and residual variables,the first order lagged entropy of the location of three provinces and one city in the Yangtze River Delta region was selected as the instrumental variable for the system GMM model estimation.The conclusion is drawn that agricultural insurance agglomeration can gather various resource elements and directly or indirectly promote the development of agricultural insurance,thereby promoting the development of agricultural economy.On this basis,robustness test and Granger causality test are used to ensure the rationality of the selected model.Finally,based on theoretical and empirical results,this article proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions at the government and insurance company levels.At the government level,by providing effective insurance funding support for agricultural insurance development,strengthening infrastructure construction,optimizing structural layout,and promoting regional agricultural insurance agglomeration development;At the level of insurance companies,by diversifying the use of insurance funds,promoting product innovation and improving the business level of agricultural insurance,and promoting the work of benefiting the people of agricultural insurance,the innovative competitiveness of agricultural insurance can be improved.In order to improve the level of agricultural insurance agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta region and promote the development of agricultural economy.
