The development of environmental protection industry is of great significance to the sustainable development of economy and the improvement of People’s quality of life,it also plays a positive role in promoting the supply-side reform.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC),the CPC Central Committee has put forward the concept of ecological civilization and green development concepts such as Jinshan District and Silverhill. The state has issued various environmental protection policies to speed up the development of the environmental protection industry, but at the same time,it has also intensified the competition in the environmental protection industry.A large amount of funds and enterprises have joined the environmental protection industry, and new technologies and operating models have emerged in an endless stream, the speed of industry integration has been greatly accelerated, which has a great impact on traditional enterprises. In 2022,there were 50 mergers and acquisitions in the listed companies of environmental protection industry in our country. The scale and speed of development of traditional environmental protection enterprises have been difficult to adapt to the development of the industry.Under this background,if the traditional environmental protection enterprises can not recognize the profound connotation of green development and the advantages and disadvantages of their own development, and accelerate the pace of strategic transformation, they will face the risk of being merged or eliminated.Based on the extensive collection of relevant data on the impact of green development on the development of environmental protection industry, this paper takes G Company as the object of study and combines the development status quo of G Company and its competitors, and using PEST theory,SWOT analysis and other methods,a comprehensive analysis of G Company’s internal and external environmental factors and problems in the development.Through the research and analysis,it is found that the environmental protection industry of G Company is in the period of policy opportunity and has a lot of room for development, but the existing strategy of G Company is no longer suitable for the development of enterprises,g Company also faces a number of factors forcing it to make an urgent need for strategic transformation. In view of the huge policy opportunities for the environmental protection industry brought about by the national policy,G Company has the advantages of sufficient capital, stable local market share and good business foundation, etc.,it also has many disadvantages, such as the overall scale is not strong, the strategic development positioning is not clear, the organizational mechanism is missing and SO on,starting with concentrating resources on the development of main business, relying on capital to rapidly expand the scale of an enterprise, and relying on technology to improve the core competitiveness of an enterprise, this paper puts forward a new enterprise concept, vision and development strategy, and from the party building, organizational mechanism, personnel, capital, corporate culture and other aspects of the strategy to provide security, and ultimately achieve the rapid development of enterprises. The results show that the strategic transformation study of G Company against the background of green development is an effective measure to make timely changes in the light of environmental changes at the right time,it will play a positive role for G Company to seize the development opportunity and improve the market competitiveness of enterprises. At the same time,as a state-controlled listed enterprise, the strategic transformation of G Company is of great significance to the reform of mixed ownership of state-owned enterprises and the implementation of strategic transformation of mixed ownership enterprises.
