| As China’s technology business incubators continue to innovate and develop, how to better enhance regional innovation performance by promoting incubator optimization and upgrading has attracted extensive attention from scholars.Previous studies have proven that incubator innovation capacity can positively impact regional innovation. However, along with technological progress and development,it is urgent to promote innovation-driven transformation of growth mode and economic growth momentum in order to achieve sustainable growth. Therefore, this paper analyzes the innovation capacity of national science and technology business incubators from the perspective of innovation drive,so as to bring new impetus to the improvement of regional innovation capacity.Based on the realistic background, this paper takes national-level business incubators as the research object, evaluates the innovation-driven capacity of China’s incubators based on the panel data of 30 provinces and municipalities from 2013 to 2020,and empirically analyzes the mechanism of the role of incubator innovation-driven capacity on regional innovation performance based on innovation geography theory and spatial econometric theory. The main research contents of this paper are as follows: firstly, analyze the development status of my technology business incubators, and construct an incubator innovation-driven capacity index system based on this, apply global principal component analysis to measure, and analyze the change trend of China’s incubator innovation-driven capacity from the vertical and horizontal perspective in comparison with the measurement results;secondly, construct a spatial econometric model to analyze the effect of incubator innovation-driven capacity on regional innovation performance Secondly,we construct a spatial econometric model to analyze the influence mechanism of incubator innovation drive capacity on regional innovation performance, divide 30 provinces and municipalities into four regions to analyze their regional heterogeneity, and conduct robustness tests by replacing the spatial matrix and replacing the explanatory variables. The research results show that(1)the innovation-driven capacity of incubators in China’s 30 provinces and municipalities from 2013-20120 shows a continuous upward trend, and the capacity ranking among provinces and municipalities is relatively stable;there are large disparities between regions, with the innovation-driven capacity of incubators in the eastern region at a high stage of development, the central region also developing rapidly and gradually approaching the national average, while the northeastern and western regions are developing more The northeastern and western regions are developing more slowly;(2)The regression results based on the spatial error model show that the innovation-driving capacity of incubators can significantly contribute to the improvement of regional innovation performance;government support through science and technology expenditures can significantly influence the local regional innovation performance;the expansion of population size, the improvement of regional economic development, the improvement of human capital, and the improvement of urban infrastructure can positively influence the regional innovation performance;regional Regional heterogeneity analysis shows that incubator innovation-driven capacity can significantly and positively influence regional innovation performance in the eastern and central regions of China, but not in the northeastern and western regions, indicating that there are regional differences in the influence of incubator innovation-driven capacity on regional innovation performance among regions in China.Based on the findings of this paper, the following policy recommendations are proposed: first, improve the construction of incubators themselves to enhance the innovation-driving capacity of technology business incubators;second, continuously optimize the internal and external innovation environment of incubators;third, fully integrate and utilize various innovation factors such as local economy, talents and policies to enhance regional innovation performance;fourth, strengthen inter-regional communication and cooperation to promote inter-regional resource sharing. |
