Stepping into the digital era,the development of digitalization has given birth to the digital economy,which helps the development of society in all aspects.The digital economy has become a new engine of economic growth and a new momentum of innovation and development in China."The 14 th Five-Year Plan proposes to promote the deep integration of digital technology with the real economy and the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy.In this context,this paper focuses on the digital development of enterprises and explores the relationship between digitalization level,innovation performance and total factor productivity of manufacturing enterprises,which has important theoretical and practical significance.Based on this,this paper selects A-share manufacturing enterprises from 2012-2020 as th e research object to explore the impact of digitalization level of manufacturing enterprises on t otal factor productivity and the mediating role of innovation performance between the digitali zation level of enterprises and total factor productivity.Through regression analysis,the follo wing conclusions are finally obtained: firstly,the improvement of enterprise digitisation level is conducive to the promotion of total factor productivity of manufacturing enterprises;secon dly,the improvement of enterprise digitisation level is conducive to the promotion of innovati on performance of manufacturing enterprises at both quantitative and qualitative levels;thirdl y,innovation performance plays a partly mediating role in the influence mechanism of enterpr ise digitisation level on total factor productivity;fourthly,innovation performance plays a part in the The mediating role of innovation performance between the digitalization level of enter prises and total factor productivity is more obvious in state-owned enterprises;Fifth,the prom otion of total factor productivity by the digitalization level of enterprises is better in large ente rprises than in MSMEs,and there are pain points and blockages in the mediating influence me chanism of innovation performance in MSMEs;Sixth,in manufacturing high-tech industries a nd manufacturing non-high-tech industries,the promotion of total factor productivity by the di gitalization level of enterprises and innovation performance in both Sixthly,in both manufactu ring high-tech industries and manufacturing non-high-tech industries,the promotion effect of enterprise digitalization on total factor productivity and the mediating effect of innovation per formance between the two are well verified,and the effect is better in manufacturing high-tec h industries.Based on the findings of this paper and the problems and shortcomings found in the study,the following suggestions are made from the perspective of enterprises themselves and the government: from the perspective of enterprises themselves,they should continue to deepen the digital transformation development and improve the digital technology application capability;build the coordination mechanism of digitalization and other resources to improve the innovation development capability of manufacturing enterprises;improve the digital talent training system and evaluation mechanism.From the government’s point of view,we should focus on the overall planning of digital development and deep integration with the real economy of manufacturing industry;strengthen the legislation and law enforcement in the field of digitalization to create a good development environment.
