Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, the economic development of China and the world has been negatively affected to varying degrees. With the continued impact of the epidemic, enterprises are facing severe challenges in terms of logistics or capital flow.At the same time, although China has introduced corresponding economic incentive policies, banks are more likely to choose financing enterprises above the scale based on risk considerations and the stable operation of enterprises, which makes it difficult for smes to resume work and production. It is harder to raise money from banks. As an important part of the main body of our economy, the economic vitality of our country relies on a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises. In this post-epidemic era,it is of certain practical significance for commercial banks to improve their own management strategies to improve the level of financing management of smes and to help smes recover. To improve the level of bank financing management of smes,it is necessary to understand the characteristics of smes so as to cause the financing difficulties of total small enterprises. The daily operation of small and medium-sized enterprises itself has relatively clear characteristics, such as fast turnover of assets, flexible internal management and short-term decision-making and more short-term high profits are its corresponding characteristics. However, such operating characteristics also have factors limiting its own development, such as light assets,non-standard management, high transaction costs and uncertain profits, which also cause greater operating risks. In contrast, the financing management of traditional banks for enterprises from the internal process or product design,is still based on the financing of large enterprises above the scale as the model. If we manage SME financing in the same way, there is no doubt that we are cutting our feet to suit the shoe, and it is difficult to achieve the purpose of improving SME financing management. Therefore, while defining the definition of small and medium-sized enterprises, this paper firstly summarizes the factors causing the financing difficulties of small and medium-sized enterprises through literature review method, and on this basis, studies the management strategies suitable for commercial banks to optimize the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises.Changzhi Branch of S Bank is a local commercial bank, among which small business customers are representative to a certain extent in Changzhi City. This paper investigates the front-line employees of the bank and the person in charge of the customers of small and medium-sized enterprises under the background of "post-epidemic" era by means of questionnaire. The problems existing in the financing management of smes in Changzhi Branch of S Bank were analyzed and summarized from the four aspects of product, organizational process, performance management and brand asset management, and the current research results of financing management of smes were summarized through literature research, and strategies and suggestions for solving the corresponding management problems of S Bank were selectively proposed. So as to improve the performance of Changzhi Branch of S Bank in the local SME financing market. The economic environment is always changing, and the emergence of the novel coronavirus epidemic has manifested the impact of such changes.Supporting the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises is still an important development direction of China’s financial industry.Banks,as an important part of the financial industry, should take the initiative to change in the face of changes and challenges.
