Synergistic Industrial Agglomeration On China Study On The Impact Of Manufacturing Export Competitiveness

The manufacturing industry is the foundation of a strong country and the foundation of a nation.China is both the first manufacturing country and the first country in trade in goods.The manufacturing industry is vital to the high-quality development of China’s economy and the maintenance of stable import and export trade.In recent years,China’s manufacturing exports have been affected by certain shocks due to the Sino-US trade friction and the new crown pneumonia,and the topic on how to consolidate and enhance the competitiveness of China’s manufacturing exports has received more and more attention.In this paper,from the perspective of the synergistic agglomeration of manufacturing and productive service industries,the impact of synergistic agglomeration of manufacturing and productive service industries on the export competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry is analyzed from both theoretical and empirical perspectives by selecting panel data of 30 provinces in China,with a view to putting forward some rationalized suggestions for enhancing the export competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry.Firstly,this paper presents a theoretical account of the causes and realisation mechanisms of industrial agglomeration,productive service industry agglomeration and industrial synergistic agglomeration from three perspectives: external economic theory,competitive rent theory and industrial integration theory.The mechanism of synergistic agglomeration on manufacturing export competitiveness is then analysed from three perspectives: cost effect,competition effect and specialisation effect.The cost effect positively affects export competitiveness by forming economies of scale and accelerating the flow of factors;the competition effect positively and negatively affects export competitiveness by inducing enterprises to innovate and creating a crowding effect;the specialization effect positively affects export competitiveness by improving production efficiency and diversifying product production.Secondly.The location entropy index,the relative difference index method with the addition of location entropy and the ECI index method were used to measure and analyse the manufacturing agglomeration index,the productive service industry synergy agglomeration index,the manufacturing and productive service industry synergy agglomeration index and the manufacturing export competitiveness index of 30 provinces in China from 2008 to2020 respectively,and it was found that there were large differences between different regions,and the four indices The results of the four indices show that the central and eastern regions have obvious leading advantages,while the differences between the central and western regions are not large.Again,in the empirical analysis part of the paper,the benchmark regression analysis was carried out on the data of 30 provinces during 2008-2020 by adding control variables step by step,and then robustness tests and endogeneity analysis were carried out,and heterogeneity analysis was conducted on different regions,different productive service industry segments and different export technology types of manufacturing industries.The research results show that the synergistic agglomeration of manufacturing and productive service industries has a positive impact on the improvement of China’s manufacturing export competitiveness,and there is heterogeneity among different regions,different types of productive service industry segments and different types of export technology manufacturing industries.Finally,combining the results of the theoretical analysis and empirical research,four policy suggestions are made on how to improve the export competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry: First,formulate targeted development plans to enhance the level of synergistic agglomeration.Second,Combine the introduction of foreign investment with the introduction of factors to promote a high level of institutional-based open environment.Third,promote the deep integration of industry,academia and research,and give full play to the knowledge spillover effect and technology spillover effect of synergistic agglomeration.Fourth,reduce direct government intervention and take multiple measures to optimise the governance model.
