With the continuous and vigorous development of international trade,import commodity trade will play an increasingly important role in promoting the growth of the national economy.The manufacturing industry has become the pillar of the socialist national economy,and its economic development plays an important role in the international position and policy strategy of a country.Therefore,scientific and technological progress and improving the technological efficiency of enterprises are the key to further improve the green TFP of the manufacturing industry.In the current world,economic and technological globalization continues to deepen,technological progress and improvement of technological efficiency are closely related to the degree of domestic independent research and development,and international technology spillovers from foreign and import trade channels are inseparable.If China can drive the technological progress of the domestic industry through the technology spillover effect of import trade and continue to promote the GTFP of the manufacturing industry,it will not only improve the industrial sales value of the manufacturing industry,but also help to realize the sustainable green development of the manufacturing industry.This paper comprehensively analyzes the data of 28 sectors in China from 2009 to2019,and discusses the impact of technology spillovers on GTFP of manufacturing industry in combination with the import situation in the sample period,with a view to providing effective policy recommendations and economic management reference for the government.Through empirical research,this paper draws a series of important conclusions:First,China’s manufacturing industry and its sub-industries show a rapid growth trend of import technology spillovers every year.From the perspective of different industries,it is mainly technology-intensive industries that gain more benefits from technology spillovers from import trade channels,followed by capital-intensive and labor-intensive industries.Second,the GTFP of China’s manufacturing industry has shown an overall upward trend,but there are slight fluctuations in individual years.According to the collected data,it can be seen that among the three factor-intensive industries,the manufacturing industry in technology-intensive industries has the highest GTFP,while the capitalintensive industries and labor-intensive industries are at a lower level.It can be seen from the indicator calculation that there are differences in the green total factor productivity of these three industries,and the lower level of manufacturing green total factor productivity industry has a certain catch-up effect on the higher level of manufacturing green total factor productivity industry.Thirdly,through the study of this paper,we can see that international technology spillover effect of import trade channels are an important external power to promote green total factor productivity,technological progress and technological efficiency of China’s manufacturing industry.On the whole,imported technology spillovers have a significant and direct positive effect on the GTFP of the manufacturing industry.They can also improve the efficiency of technology transfer by increasing R&D investment and improve the optimization of human capital in the industry to bring about technological upgrading,further promoting the improvement of the green total factor productivity level of the manufacturing industry.Fourth,for industries with different factor intensities,technology spillovers from import trade can positively promote the green total factor productivity of the industry as a whole,but the research variables in this paper show industry differences in the GTFP of the manufacturing industry.Fifthly,according to the impact mechanism of technology spillover effect of import trade and green total factor productivity of manufacturing industry,it can be seen that the stronger the industry invests in R&D,the higher the technical efficiency and thus the green total factor productivity;The higher the openness of foreign trade,the better the technology absorptive capacity;The optimization of human capital can also directly bring about technological progress.Through empirical test,this paper deeply discusses the effect of technology spillovers from domestic trade on the green total factor productivity of domestic manufacturing industry,and carefully analyzes the change trend of technological progress and efficiency improvement caused by it.Finally,this paper summarizes the relevant policies and the development of China’s branch industry,and puts forward suggestions for future research. |
