sustainable competitive advantages.In the era of knowledge economy,knowledge is the core resource for enterprises to improve innovation performance and gain competitive advantage.Knowledge elements in an organization will be connected with each other according to a certain dependency relationship and form a unique knowledge network structure.As an important index to describe the degree of aggregation of knowledge elements in knowledge networks,knowledge network cohesiveness indicates the record of successful innovation and the potential of future combination,which has a profound impact on the innovation quality of enterprises.Moreover,the cohesiveness of knowledge networks of different structural types has different effects in the process of improving the innovation quality of enterprises.The existing literature lacks relevant research on the role of knowledge network cohesion in the improvement of enterprise innovation quality.Based on this,it is of great practical significance to clarify the role of knowledge network cohesiveness in improving the innovation quality of enterprises,and to deepen the understanding and management of enterprise knowledge network structure.The rapid development of big data,the Internet of Things,artificial intelligence and other new technologies has pushed mankind into the era of digital economy.The deep integration of digital technology and every link of enterprise production and management has changed the business model and competition pattern and triggered the major adjustment of enterprise strategy.In the process of enterprise strategy change,the original knowledge network structure and system in the organization have undergone a series of subtle changes.The reprogrammability of digital technology weakens the coupling relationship between knowledge elements and their functions,improves the utilization level of existing knowledge and collaborative processing efficiency,and changes the ability state of knowledge elements in the value system.The functional attributes such as cross-domain integration and boundary integration of digital technology accelerate the construction of distributed information structure and intelligent knowledge base,and provide impetus for enterprises to further deepen their core technical capabilities.However,existing researches have ignored whether the influence of knowledge network cohesion on innovation quality will change under the condition of widespread application of digital technology.Based on the data of China’s A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2021,this study examines the influence of different types of knowledge network cohesiveness on enterprise innovation quality,and further explores the regulatory effect and mechanism of digital technology application between knowledge network cohesiveness and enterprise innovation quality.The results show that:(1)different types of knowledge network cohesiveness have different impacts on innovation quality.The improvement of local cohesiveness of knowledge network has positive influence on the innovation quality of enterprises.There is an inverted U-shaped relationship between global cohesion of knowledge network and innovation quality.(2)The application of digital technology has a positive moderating effect on the influence of local cohesion of knowledge network on enterprise innovation quality.That is,with the improvement of the application level of digital technology,the positive effect of local cohesion of knowledge network on the innovation quality of enterprises is enhanced.Digital technology has improved the speed of knowledge search and processing efficiency,enhanced the absorption capacity of knowledge elements in specific fields,and promoted enterprises to improve the quality of their own innovation through in-depth development of core areas.(3)The application of digital technology significantly moderates the inverted U-shaped relationship between the global cohesion of knowledge network and the innovation quality of enterprises.In other words,the application of digital technology strengthens the positive effect of global cohesion of knowledge network on innovation quality of enterprises,and weakens the negative effect of global cohesion of knowledge network on innovation quality of enterprises.With the improvement of the application level of digital technology,the overall effect of the global cohesion of knowledge network on the innovation quality of enterprises is improved,but the marginal effect is decreased.On the one hand,the application of digital technology can accelerate the integration,absorption and utilization of diversified knowledge,promote the connection of knowledge elements across fields,and help organizations realize more effective combination of knowledge elements.On the other hand,based on the characteristics of agility and foresight,the application of digital technology can weaken the coupling relationship between knowledge elements,promote internal knowledge reorganization,reduce the entry barrier of external knowledge,improve the enthusiasm of R&D personnel,and effectively avoid the problem of innovation quality decline caused by organizational inertia.In this study,the application of digital technology is included in the research field of knowledge network structure and enterprise innovation,and the effect and internal mechanism of the application of digital technology in the process of knowledge network cohesiveness affecting enterprise innovation quality are clarified,and the research perspective and analysis paradigm of digital technology application are further expanded.This study provides a reference for enterprises to make better use of and manage knowledge networks,give full play to the application efficiency of digital technology,stimulate the potential of knowledge element combination,improve the absorptive capacity of organizations,and improve the quality of enterprise innovation. |
