| The central region is currently undergoing a late industrialization phase and is heavily reliant on capital, labor, and investment, thus causing an uneven and unsustainable economic growth. The information age has brought about a significant strategic resource and production factor in the form of information resources.Information, with its network and externality characteristics, has become a driving force for economic development, and can bring about spatial spillover effects. This has a significant impact on regional economic growth and the attainment of superior quality. In central cities, the endowment of information infrastructure and economic development environment are evidently disparate. Therefore,an in-depth study of the spatial pattern and effect of information infrastructure and economic growth in the central region provides an important reference for the central region to coordinate the construction of information infrastructure with characteristics and formulate development policies. This thesis’s research is largely based on the following components:(1)Define relevant concepts and research status in this field, and based on relevant theories, conduct theoretical analysis on the spatial effect of information infrastructure on economic growth;(2)Conduct spatial autocorrelation test, and use Moran index analysis,Lisa clustering analysis and Getis-Ord Gi~*index to analyze the spatial evolution pattern;(3)The spatial Dubin model is used for empirical analysis, and the central city is divided into two regions with the Qinling and Huaihe River as the dividing line;(4)Summarize the empirical conclusions and draw policy recomendations based on the research conclusions. The basic conclusions of this thesis are as follows:First, geographical factors are crucial in spatial relations, and more factors that can show spatial differences should be included in the setting of spatial weight matrix. There is an obvious positive spatial correlation between cities in the central region. The spatial evolution pattern of cold and hot spots of economic growth is relatively stable. Some cities in Shanxi Province show opposite characteristics in the spatial evolution pattern of broadband infrastructure and communication infrastructure.Second, the broadband infrastructure expressed by the number of Internet access users per capital can significantly promote economic growth, and has a positive spatial spillover effect; The communication infrastructure expressed by the number of mobile and fixed telephone users per capital has a negative spatial effect. In the robustness test,it is further found that the negative effect of fixed telephone on economic growth is very obvious.Thirdly, taking the Qinling and Huaihe River as the dividing line, the central region is divided into two parts:the north and the south. It is found that the economic growth of broadband infrastructure in the southern cities shows a greater positive role. This thesis also finds that government support has a significant impact on economic growth. The research conclusion of this thesis enriches the relevant research on information infrastructure and economic growth, and finds the differences between information infrastructure and economic growth in different cities in the central region more profoundly from the spatial dimension, which is conducive to further optimizing the investment policy of information infrastructure in the central region, improving the construction planning of information infrastructure in the central region, and promoting the integrated development of information and communication technology and traditional industries, and has certain guiding significance. |
