| In the era of digital economy,although traditional resources such as equipment and capital still occupy a dominant position,the importance of emerging resources such as information and data is difficult to ignore.As enterprises continuously improve the utilization of modern information technology and increase the investment in innovation activities in order to realize digital transformation,the internal resource redundancy provides possible support for enterprises to realize digital transformation.Resource redundancy can also be classified into different categories.For example,existing studies usually divide resource redundancy into absorbed redundancy and unabsorbed redundancy according to their different degrees of freedom.Different types of resource redundancy have different forms of expression and degrees of free use within enterprises,and have different impacts on enterprises’ digital transformation.In the era of digital economy,faced with the growing external pressure,resource redundancy plays the role of resource buffer,and its characteristics can inject new vitality into the development and change of enterprises,so it is gradually paid attention to by enterprises and entered the vision of enterprise managers.Enterprises’ emphasis on innovation input not only creates new challenges and opportunities for enterprises,but also creates greater possibilities for enterprises to grasp market opportunities and promote digital transformation of enterprises.In the era of digital economy,emerging digital technologies,represented by big data,the Internet and cloud computing,have attracted great attention in the industry and been widely applied and developed.At present,the digital transformation that enterprises attach importance to in practice has attracted the attention of the academic circle,and the relevant theoretical research is increasingly prosperous.However,the current literature is still insufficient to investigate the mechanism of enterprise digital transformation,so it is necessary to further optimize and improve.With the deepening of the research,the space for further improvement becomes more and more obvious: At present,most studies start from the external influencing factors,while few studies analyze the role of resources on digital transformation from the inside of the company,which will provide more reference basis for enterprise digital transformation.Moreover,the influence of resource redundancy on enterprise digital transformation is complex,and its action path has a certain ambiguity.Therefore,in-depth research on how resource redundancy affects enterprises’ digital transformation and the internal mechanism between them will help deepen the relevant research on the factors influencing digital transformation,and have important practical significance for enterprises to optimize the allocation of internal resources,promote the steady development of economy and even realize the digital transformation.In order to further explore the road of enterprise digital transformation,provide reference for enterprises to realize digital transformation.This study takes China’s A-share listed companies from 2008 to 2020 as the research object.Based on resource-based theory and principal-agent theory,this study explores the role of different types of resource redundancy in enterprise digital transformation and its internal mechanism.Specifically,this paper analyzes the influence of unabsorbed redundancy and absorbed redundancy on digital transformation of enterprises,and studies the introduction of innovation input as the intermediary variable in order to clarify the mechanism of different types of resource redundancy on digital transformation.Through theoretical deduction and empirical analysis,this study mainly draws the following conclusions:(1)Unabsorbed redundancy has high flexibility and freedom,which can effectively promote the digital transformation of enterprises;(2)The flexibility of absorption redundancy is low,and it has been integrated into the operation of enterprises,which will hinder the digital transformation of enterprises;(3)Innovation input mediates the relationship between unabsorbed redundancy and digital transformation,as well as between absorbed redundancy and digital transformation.The innovation input is introduced into the research paradigm of analyzing the impact of resource redundancy on digital transformation based on the resource-based theory and the principal-agent theory,which deepens the relevant research on the effect of resource redundancy on the digital transformation of enterprises,and the theory is more in line with the actual situation of enterprises.It provides theoretical guidance and practical reference for enterprises to balance different types of resource redundancy,improve the level of innovation input and promote the enterprise digital transformation. |
