Urban-rural integration development is one of the important measures proposed by the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to promote high-quality economic development in the country. The Yangtze River Economic Belt, aside from coastal regions,is the most economically dense area in China. However, the problem of uncoordinated urban-rural development and regional imbalance is particularly prominent in this region. The Yangtze River Economic Belt has entered the middle and late stages of urbanization and industrialization, and has the potential for urban-rural integration development.Based on this, this paper scientifically measures the current situation of urban-rural integration development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and explores the impact of labour productivity differences on urban-rural integration development and its spatial effects,in order to provide practical and feasible policy recommendations for urban-rural integration development in the economic belt.Firstly,a multidimensional indicator system for measuring urban-rural integration development is constructed, and the entropy-weighted comprehensive evaluation method is used to scientifically measure the degree of urban-rural integration of 11 provinces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2008 to 2020.Using line charts, the time series characteristics of the urban-rural integration and the criteria level are analyzed, while the local Moran scatter plot, spatial density distribution map,and other methods are used to analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of the urban-rural integration in the region. The Results show:(1)Over time, the degree of urban-rural integration and its criteria level have generally shown an increasing trend year by year. The growth rate of urban-rural integration in underdeveloped areas is significantly faster than that in economically developed areas, with an evident catch-up effect. There is significant differentiation between the urban-rural economic integration and the urban-rural production integration in the time series, with Shanghai ranking first, followed by Zhejiang and Jiangsu, while the remaining provinces and cities are lagging behind. However, this differentiation is not significant in the two criteria levels of the urban-rural ecology integration and the urban-rural life integration.(2)Spatially,there is a clear positive spatial autocorrelation effect within the region, with urban-rural integration showing "L-L" aggregation in the western inland area of the economic belt and "H-H" aggregation in the eastern coastal area. However, this positive spatial autocorrelation effect is not evident in the central region.Subsequently, based on Lewis’ dual economic structure theory, which argues that differences in urban-rural labour productivity will affect urban-rural integration development, this paper analyzes the internal mechanism of labour productivity on urban-rural integration development and its possible spatial spillover effects.Based on the impact mechanism,a spatial Durbin model is constructed to quantitatively analyze the impact of differences in labour productivity on urban-rural integration development and its spatial effects. The Results show:(1)The convergence of urban-rural labour productivity can promote local urban-rural integration development;(2)The convergence of urban-rural labour productivity has negative spatial spillover effects, which will inhibit the urban-rural integration development of other geographic units;(3)Through effect decomposition, the convergence of urban-rural labour productivity in one region can still have a positive promoting effect on urban-rural development in the entire Yangtze River Economic Belt. Then, the whole Yangtze River Economic Belt is divided into three regions:east, middle and west, and the comprehensive FGLS is used to estimate the parameters of the factors affecting the urban-rural integration development in the three regions. The results show that the factors affecting the urban-rural integration development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt have obvious spatial heterogeneity. Finally, based on the above spatial heterogeneity analysis and the actual situation of each region of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, differentiated countermeasures and suggestions are proposed to promote the integrated development of local urban and rural areas.
