State-owned enterprises need to have a global perspective and benchmark against world-class standards. While fully promoting mixed ownership reform, they should also pay attention to Corporate Social Responsibility and become an important force in promoting high-quality and harmonious economic and social development. This thesis takes non-financial state-owned listed companies in the A-share markets of Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2010 to 2019 as the research object, collects and organizes relevant data on mixed ownership reform and Corporate Social Responsibility of state-owned enterprises, and tests the impact of mixed ownership reform on the social responsibility of state-owned enterprises. The study found that mixed ownership reform significantly promoted the level of Corporate Social Responsibility of state-owned enterprises. The mechanism analysis results show that mixed ownership reform improved the quality of internal control of state-owned enterprises, suppressed executive consumption while in office, improved asset allocation efficiency, and thus promoted the improvement of Corporate Social Responsibility level.Further verification found that the promotion effect of mixed ownership reform on the social responsibility of state-owned enterprises mainly existed in competitive state-owned enterprises. The research results also showed that mixed ownership reform has a significant positive impact on employee responsibility, supplier, customer and consumer rights and interests responsibility, environmental responsibility, and social responsibility of state-owned enterprises.Non-state-owned shareholder-appointed directors and supervisors can also promote state-owned enterprises to improve their social responsibility level. On the one hand, this thesis expands the study of non-economic consequences of mixed ownership reform from the perspective of Corporate Social Responsibility, and on the other hand, provides new evidence for how changes in equity structure affect Corporate Social Responsibility from the perspective of mixed ownership reform. The research results of this thesis provide necessary reference and inspiration for state-owned enterprises to improve their social responsibility level under the background of mixed ownership reform.
