With the rapid change of science and technology,enterprises are now facing the transformation from traditional economy to information economy,and the organizational structure is gradually changing from rigid pyramid organizational structure to cooperative and open flat organizational structure.The organizational structure of enterprises is also gradually weakening the previous strict relationship between superiors and subordinates,and the interaction between superiors and subordinates is no longer just a process in which employees accept the influence of leaders.Employees can also exert greater upward force and influence in their work.Since employee followership is of great value for maximizing leadership effectiveness and enhancing organizational efficiency,how to stimulate employee followership has attracted wide attention from all walks of life.At the same time,the influence of leadership behavior on employee followership has been widely concerned.As a new leadership style,the research on the influence of participatory leadership behavior on employee followership needs to be further developed.Based on this,from the perspective of social information processing,this study intends to take psychological availability and work vitality as mediating variables to investigate how participative leadership affects employee followability through two paths of psychological availability and work vitality,and at the same time to study the moderating effect of individual trait of achievement goal orientation.In this study,335 survey data were distributed and collected in the form of questionnaires,based on SPSS,AMOS and other data analysis software,the influence and effect of participatory leadership on employee followership were clarified,and the mediating role of psychological availability and work vitality was further explored,as well as the moderating role of achievement goal orientation.According to this study,participatory leadership has a positive impact on employee followership.Psychological availability and work vitality play partial mediating roles in the influence of participative leadership on employee followership.Achievement goal orientation plays a moderating role in the influence of participative leadership on psychological availability and work vitality.In terms of theoretical contribution,through empirical analysis,this study shows that participative leadership cultivates employees’ followership and enricfies the literature on participative leadership.The results show that participative leadership indirectly affects employee followership through psychological availability and work vitality,which improves the mediating mechanism between them.It is proved that achievement orientation is the boundary condition that changes the intensity of participative leadership influence.Based on the research results,suggestions are also provided for organizational development in practice.Firstly,leaders can expand opportunities for participation and more support,accept suggestions from employees,consider various decision-making choices,and provide subordinates with enough information and resources to activate employee followership.Secondly,managers should clarify the requirements and expectations for followers in daily management,and provide necessary resources for followers to enhance their psychological availability.In addition,leaders can care more and encourage subordinates in daily management to stimulate a higher level of work vitality of employees.Finally,from the perspective of sustainable development,the organization should guide employees to achieve the goal oriented setting so as to improve the efficiency of the benign operation of the organization.
