Study On Influencing Factors Of Intra-industry Trade Of Agricultural Products Between China And EU

Both China and the EU play an important role in global agriculture.The agriculture of the two sides is highly similar and highly complementary.Trade in agricultural products has become an important part of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.In 2020,China became the third largest market for EU agricultural exports and the fifth largest source of EU imports.Under such a background,the sustainable development of agricultural trade is the common goal of China and the EU.As a new form of trade,intra-industry trade of agricultural products is of great significance to optimize the trade structure of agricultural products and promote the sustainable and healthy development of agricultural products trade,which is attracting more and more countries’ attention.Therefore,this paper studies the intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and EU.This paper first studied the current situation of intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and the European Union.Based on the preliminary understanding of the general situation of Sino-European agricultural products trade,the scale,level,role and structure of intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and the European Union were analyzed by using relevant indexes.It was found that the intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and the European Union showed a growing trend,and the fourth type of intra-industry trade of agricultural products was the largest.The trade of agricultural products between China and EU is mainly inter-industry trade,and the second type of intraindustry trade is the most significant.The increase of agricultural trade between China and EU mainly comes from inter-industry trade,and the fourth type of intra-industry trade plays the largest role.The increase of intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and the EU mainly comes from vertical intra-industry trade,and the horizontal intra-industry trade of the first type of agricultural products has the highest quality.It also summarizes the characteristics of backward development of trade in the production industry,optimization of intra-industry trade product structure,and low level of intra-industry trade development.Then the Tobit model was used to explore the influencing factors of intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and the EU,and the dynamic effects of the main influencing factors were further analyzed by the PVAR model.The results showed that foreign direct investment and agricultural trade structure could significantly promote the development of intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and the EU.Per capita income difference and agricultural trade imbalance can significantly hinder the development of intraindustry agricultural trade between China and the EU.The dynamic effects of the four main influencing factors are different.Among them,the impact of agricultural trade structure on intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and the EU is mainly positive and lasts for a long time,which is a relatively important factor affecting bilateral intra-industry trade.Finally,some suggestions are put forward to promote the development of intra-industry trade of agricultural products between China and EU.
