With the rapid economic globalization sweeping the world, enterprises have acquired more strategic resources and knowledge technology in overseas markets through internationalization strategies, and gradually developed into independent innovation capabilities. With the increasingly fierce international scientific and technological competition,high-tech enterprises,as the leading force for Chinese enterprises to "go global",have repeatedly encountered setbacks in the globalization process.Enterprises are facing increasing competitive pressures and risks in the international market, and the role of innovation is becoming increasingly prominent.China’s economy mainly relies on innovation driven development to obtain sustained economic growth and advantages in international competition. As an inevitable trend of future economic development, improving enterprise innovation performance has gradually become a hot issue in the fields of economics and management. Therefore, studying the relationship between internationalization and innovation performance of high-tech enterprises has significant theoretical and practical significance.Chongqing,as one of the important national central cities, the western international comprehensive transportation hub,and the international gateway hub approved by the State Council, has an important strategic position. As a wind vane for the future industrial development,high-tech enterprises are of great significance in promoting the transformation and upgrading of Chongqing’s industries, enhancing the economic development potential and sustainable competitiveness. The existing research on internationalization and innovation performance is mostly concentrated in developed countries and regions, and tends to study the impact mechanism of a single factor on innovation performance. This article takes high-tech enterprises in Chongqing as the research object to fill the gap in research on emerging markets and increase the diversity of research in the field of internationalization. This article summarizes and sorts out the dynamics of relevant research results, defines important concepts such as internationalization and innovation performance, and combines the actual situation of high-tech enterprises in Chongqing with relevant theories such as resource based view and organizational learning view to analyze the impact of internationalization on innovation performance, refining and analyzing the factors that affect innovation performance in the context of internationalization. On this basis, this article takes listed companies of high-tech enterprises in Chongqing as a research sample, uses fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method, selects five conditional variables: internationalization degree,R&D investment, absorptive capacity, business scale, and capital structure, and takes innovation performance as the outcome variable to explore the path and core factors for enterprises to achieve high and non high innovation performance. The research results show that there is not a simple linear relationship between internationalization and innovation performance, and high innovation performance achieved by enterprises has the characteristics of multiple concurrency.Under the interaction of multiple factors,it is found that there are two paths to achieve high innovation performance, among which absorptive capacity, capital structure, and business scale are the core elements to promote enterprise innovation performance. At the same time, based on the research results of this article, relevant countermeasures and suggestions are proposed for enterprises to improve innovation performance.Chongqing’s high-tech enterprises should coordinate the development of various factors, shape a "holistic view",and actively play the role of the two core elements of business scale and absorptive capacity.
