As China’s economy enters a stage of high-quality development,high-tech industry,empowered by digital and cutting-edge technologies,has entered a new "golden age" of rapid development and has become the core grip of the innovationdriven development strategy,as well as a new driving force for achieving high-quality development of the Chinese economy.In the process of China’s economic transformation,the contribution of science and technology innovation to economic development has increased significantly,especially in the era of digital economy,the innovative breakthrough of new generation information technology and the integration and development of high-tech industries have become important driving forces for the transformation of China’s economic dynamics and high-quality development in the new era.Firstly,this paper constructs a theoretical framework on the impact of the digital economy on the growth of total factor productivity of R&D and innovation in hightech industries based on economic growth theory and digital economy development theory.Secondly,using the data of China’s high-tech industry from 2000 to 2020,the entropy value method and stochastic frontier analysis method were used to measure the digital economy and the total factor productivity growth of R&D and innovation respectively.On this basis,a model of the impact of the digital economy on the total factor productivity growth of R&D innovation was constructed,and the impact of different technological innovation paths was further explored.The results show that:(1)Both the digital economy and the R&D innovation total factor productivity growth of high-tech industries show an upward trend and exhibit significant regional and industry heterogeneity.(2)The digital economy significantly contributes to R&D innovation total factor productivity growth in high-tech industries with significant regional and industry characteristics,and the eastern region is leading R&D innovation total factor productivity growth in China’s high-tech industries relative to other regions,e.g.,R&D innovation total factor productivity growth in the aerospace equipment,electronics and communication equipment,computer and office equipment manufacturing industries is driven by the digital economy.(3)Independent innovation,technology introduction and imitation innovation have significant driving effects in the process of enhancing the total factor productivity growth of R&D innovation in the digital economy,among which the effect of independent innovation is the most significant,and the three paths show significant heterogeneity in the degree of contribution among the sub-sectors.Finally,based on the above research results,this paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions of digital economy to promote the growth of total factor productivity of R&D innovation in China’s hightech industries from the perspectives of country,region and industry.
