| As a pillar industry of modern industrial development,the manufacturing industry plays an important and decisive role in enhancing the international competitiveness and comparative advantages of a certain country or region.Since China’s accession to the WTO,with the deepening of the globalization of the world economy,China’s low labor cost dividend has won China a strong international competitiveness in world trade,but with the development of China’s economy,the people’s living standards have been further improved,new needs have emerged,people’s attention to the link between economic development and environmental protection has gradually increased,and the economic development concept of "pollution first and then treatment" adopted in the past has caused great pressure on the social environment,and it is imminent to change the mode of economic development.In addition,although China has developed in the past few decades of reform and opening up,the total economic volume and comprehensive strength have stepped up to a new level,the scale of manufacturing industry also ranks first in the world,and a complete manufacturing system has been established,but the per capita added value of China’s manufacturing industry is still low,and there is still a big gap compared with the world’s advanced manufacturing countries,the degree of internationalization of related industries is not high,and the task of building a manufacturing power is heavy and long.Therefore,on the one hand,we must take the road of green development,actively promote green manufacturing,and create an environmentally friendly and clean manufacturing system.On the other hand,it is necessary to improve the country’s independent innovation capabilities,promote the adjustment of the layout of the manufacturing industry,and improve the international competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.Producer service industry,as a fusion agent of manufacturing and service industry,was born from the matrix of manufacturing.At present,the added value of my country’s manufacturing products is relatively low,and the development of producer services can significantly promote the optimization of the industrial structure of the manufacturing industry.The introduction of international advanced productive services will become one of the important paths to improve the development level of the manufacturing industry.Producer service industry,as an intermediate input,provides services for related industries while also developing itself,and the cost of services continues to decrease.Due to the continuous release of economies of scale and learning-by-doing effects,it will promote the gradual refinement of labor division within the manufacturing industry and the external This will help significantly improve the international competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.This paper uses trade data from 1997 to 2020 to empirically examine the impact of imports of trade in productive services on the international competitiveness of manufacturing.The results show that in the short term,the international competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry has a very significant short-term positive effect on the import volume of China’s productive service trade;Trade openness has a weak positive effect on the international competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry,but it has a very significant positive effect on the actual utilization of foreign investment in the manufacturing industry.In the long run,the import volume of China’s productive service trade,trade openness and the actual use of foreign investment in the manufacturing industry have different degrees of long-term positive effects on the international competitiveness of China’s manufacturing industry.Therefore,this paper proposes four policy suggestions: strengthening policy support for import trade in productive services,implementing a more open development strategy,further promoting the adjustment of the manufacturing industry structure,and comprehensively implementing green manufacturing. |
