Research On Regional Economic Differences And Influencing Factors In Rural Areas Of Jiangsu Province

Since the reform and opening up,the economic gap between China’s various regions has been expanding.As a big economic province,Jiangsu province has become more and more prominent in the economic development and prosperity at the same time,the problem of unbalanced and inadequate economic development has been widely concerned,and it has become an urgent problem to promote the coordinated economic development among the rural regions in Jiangsu Province.On the basis of collating and analyzing the relevant statistical data of Jiangsu province,this paper makes an in-depth analysis of the evolution process of economic development differences in rural areas of Jiangsu province from both time and space,and analyzes and demonstrates the influencing factors.Firstly,this paper expounds the characteristics of jiangsu rural economic and social development in different periods from the two aspects of absolute difference and relative difference.Secondly,the spatial autocorrelation analysis method is used to analyze the evolution characteristics of spatial distribution pattern of regional macro-economic differences.Then,using principal component analysis method,this paper comprehensively evaluates the economic and social development level of 13 regions in Jiangsu province from 2002 to 2019,and analyzes its influencing factors.Finally,the panel data model is established to empirically analyze the influencing factors of rural regional economic development differences in Jiangsu Province through Stata15.1.The findings:1.In terms of time dimension,the absolute difference of prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu Province was in an expanding trend from 2002 to 2019.Although the range data showed a downward trend in 2009,it began to expand gradually thereafter,and the relative difference showed a process of first expanding and then shrinking.2.From the perspective of spatial pattern,cities in Jiangsu province show a regional polarization between the north and the South.Although the level of rural regional economic development in Jiangsu Province fluctuates over time,it is stable as a whole.The formation of this stable development pattern is inseparable from the geographical location,historical factors and industrial structure layout of Jiangsu Province.3.From the result of principal component analysis,the comprehensive score of all prefecture-level cities in southern Jiangsu is higher than that in northern Jiangsu,which indicates that the economic development level of rural regions in southern Jiangsu is more developed than that in northern Jiangsu,and there are significant economic differences between rural regions.4.The important factors of regional economic differences include natural conditions,industrial structure,investment intensity,government input,consumption level,etc.These factors have an important impact on the rural economic differences in Jiangsu Province.In the process of regional economic growth in Jiangsu province,various factors in different periods act on the development of rural regional economy in Jiangsu Province.The influence of industrial structure,investment intensity and consumption expenditure on the rural regional economic development of Jiangsu Province is positive and significant,while the influence of government capacity factor on the rural regional economic development of Jiangsu Province is negative and significant.The difference of human capital investment and industrial structure among prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu is an important factor leading to the economic and social gap in Jiangsu region.
