In recent years,with the advancement of economic transformation and the acceleration of technological change,the business environment faced by enterprises has become more dynamic and complex.This brings both challenges and opportunities to enterprises.Enterprises need to obtain sustainable competitive advantage through business model innovation.The noveltybased business model innovation uses the operation mode different from the existing industry to create value,so that the enterprise can obtain the value growth point different from its competitors.Efficiency-based business model innovation reduces costs through the effective use of resources and capabilities.The study of these two different types of business model innovation will help enterprises reasonably adjust their strategies according to their own conditions and improve the possibility of successful business model innovation.To investigate different driving factors of novelty-based business model innovation and efficiency-based business model innovation,this paper uses grounded theory and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fs QCA)to carry out specific research.First,this paper collects typical cases for grounded theory,and combines with literature analysis to obtain five influence factor of business model innovation,namely,environmental dynamics,organizational forgetting,organizational learning,market capitalizing agility and operational adjustment agility;Secondly,Using fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fs QCA),we discusses the multiple concurrency mechanism of business model innovation driven by the configuration effect of these five factors.It is found that:(1)there is no single factor that constitutes the necessary conditions for business model innovation,but organizational forgetting,organizational learning and market capitalizing agility are important factors for novelty-based business model innovation,and operational adjustment agility is an important factor for efficiency-based business model innovation;(2)Business model innovation is the result of being jointly driven by a variety of factors.The driving Paths of novelty-based business model innovation are three types: driven by organizational forgetting and organizational learning,driven by organizational learning and market capitalizing agility in dynamic environment,and driven by organizational forgetting and market capitalizing agility in dynamic environment.The driving Paths of efficiency-based business model innovation are three types: driven by Organizational forgetting and operational adjustment agility,driven by organizational learning and operational adjustment agility,and driven by market capitalizing agility and operational adjustment agility in dynamic environment.(3)Organizational forgetting and organizational agility are important antecedents of business model innovation.In conclusion,the research proves that there are differences in antecedent conditions and driving configurations between novelty-based business model innovation and efficiency-based business model innovation,which helps to deepen the understanding of business model innovation and provide reference for enterprises to choose the appropriate path for business model innovation according to the actual situation.In the future,we can further explore why different paths have the same driving effect. |
