Study On Comprehensive Evaluation Of Family Farm Business Performance In Jilin Province

Family farm is a new type of agricultural management subject with family members as the main labor force,engaged in agricultural large-scale,intensive and commercialized production and management,and agricultural income as the main source of family income.Its existence and development conform to the development trend of agricultural modernization.Jilin Province is a major agricultural province in China.It is imperative to accelerate the development of agricultural modernization.With the acceleration of urbanization in Jilin Province,a large number of rural labor force is transferred to cities,and the land is rapidly concentrated to large households.The development speed of family farms in the East,middle and west of Jilin Province is gradually accelerated.In this development process,the development of family farms in different regions and types shows different trends,both in common and unique characteristics.This paper applies the Balanced Scorecard(BSC)to the business performance evaluation of family farms,in order to reflect the comprehensive level and development potential of the business performance of family farms in Jilin Province,and analyze the differences between family farms in various regions and industries in Jilin Province.Combined with literature review and field research,this paper grasps the current situation of moderate scale operation in Jilin Province,including land circulation,agricultural production trusteeship service and land stock cooperation.At the same time,we learned about the development of other new agricultural business entities such as large agricultural households,family farms and farmers’ cooperatives.Master the basic development trend,including the number of family farms in cities and prefectures of Jilin Province,the number of family farms in Jilin Province over the years,the existence status of family farms and the scope of registered capital of family farms.Based on these situations,this paper summarizes the relevant problems existing in the process of developing family farms,including imperfect relevant supporting policies,short term of land transfer,small scale,great difficulty in credit financing,imperfect social service system and low comprehensive quality of farmers.Based on the Balanced Scorecard and sustainable development theory,this paper constructs the family farm management performance evaluation index system from the five dimensions of economy,coordination,management,ecology and innovation,explains the definition of each index,and obtains the weight of the index by analytic hierarchy process;Then,based on the questionnaire survey data of four industrial types of family farms in the East,central and western regions of Jilin Province in2020,fuzzy comprehensive evaluation(FCE)is used to comprehensively evaluate the operating performance of the surveyed farms,and comparative analysis is carried out by regions and industries to grasp the differences of development levels.The results of empirical analysis show that the overall performance of the surveyed family farms is between average and good.Among them,coordination performance is good,innovation performance is between general and good,economic performance is general,management performance and ecological performance are low;In particular,there are development bottlenecks in the diversification of marketing and financing channels,branding and organic production;There are obvious differences in the operating performance of family farms of different industrial types.The performance of family farms of planting and breeding combination is the most prominent,followed by family farms of fruits and vegetables and grain,and the score of family farms of breeding is the lowest;There is little difference in the operating performance of family farms between different regions.Finally,based on the research conclusions,this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote the comprehensive,healthy and coordinated development of family farms,such as increasing policy support,standardizing the form of land transfer,strengthening the construction of financial services,broadening financing channels and accelerating the cultivation of professional farmers.
