Research On Supply-side Reform Of Medical And Health Industry In China Under The Trend Of Population Aging

As a basic industry in the field of people’s livelihood,the medical and health industry has strong capital and technology-intensive attributes while having the attributes of people’s livelihood services.The industry scope includes many fields including medical and health services,pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing,elderly care services and health security.With the intensification of the aging trend of the Chinese population,the medical and health industry will have a stronger demand base,and will also occupy an increasingly important position in economic and social development,which requires the continuous development of industrial supply to meet the growth of industrial demand.In this context,based on the analysis of residents’ health demand,this thesis will analyzes the supply status and problems of my country’s health industry,and discuss the direction and strategy of the Chinese health industry supply-side reform.Comprehensive research and judgment on the coupling coordination degree between the demand side and the supply side,and then put forward countermeasures and suggestions for the supply side reform of the Chinese medical and health industry.This thesis firstly draw on the W-L model and the Andersen health service utilization behavior model from the demand side,and use the CFPS and CHARLS data to conduct an empirical analysis on the influencing factors of residents’ health expenditure.From the empirical analysis conclusion,with the increasing trend of population aging,,residents’ health needs will continue to grow,and at the same time,they will pay more attention to high-quality pension and medical and health services,and medical and health insurance with a higher level of security.Then,based on the demand-side conclusion,starting from the supply side in the fields of medical and health services,medicine and medical device manufacturing,elderly care services and health security,the current situation of industrial supply in various fields at the national and regional levels is summarized and the problems existing in the supply of the Chinese medical and health industry are analyzed.Finally,the analysis of the supply and demand coupling coordination of the health industry is carried out.It can be seen from the conclusions that the supply and demand systems of the health industry have developed rapidly in recent years,and the systems have a high level of coordination,but there is still a problem of supply lag.These studies provide an empirical basis for promoting the development of health industry through industrial supply-side reform.Combined with the current situation of industry development and the results of demand analysis,it is concluded that the current health industry has various problems such as uneven allocation of medical care and human resources;medical institutions and funds are under pressure on revenue and expenditure;single products and insufficient service levels.As the aging trend intensifies,the need for healthcare services and products will become more urgent.Therefore,the following suggestions are put forward for the supply-side reform of the Chinese medical and health industry: firstly,optimize the allocation of medical resources and improve institutional operations;secondly,strengthen government financial support and strengthen personnel training;thirdly,improve the operation of social security funds and enrich product supply;fourth,increase investment in research and development to enhance health attributes;fifth,enhance residents’ health concept and enhance risk awareness.
