| The trend towards internationalization in the higher education sector creates extraordinary opportunities for the global exchanges of knowledge and cultures.As the world is becoming a global village,the role of international students in higher education is increasing.China once known as one of the largest sending country of international students,currently became as one of the largest receiving countries of foreign students in the world.Rapid pace of economic development of China,along with vast number scholarship opportunities,makes it a leading host destination for international students.Besides that quality of university education,tuition fees,comparatively low living expenses,social development,overall safety and job opportunities for global labor market’s highly competitive positions make China hosting country of more than 400 000 foreign students.International educational migration is seen as a-Soft Power Resource‖ in the era of globalization.The course of the Ministry of Education of China to increase the number of foreign students in Chinese Higher Education Institutions implemented in the framework of the General Policy of openness and technological modernization of the country,has achieved remarkable results.In just a decade and a half,the total number of foreign bachelors,masters,doctoral students,trainees,students of language and other courses and programs in Chinese universities has grown almost 7.5 times.Such growth rates in the number of foreign students have no analogues in the world.This study aims to analyze and research on international students’ competitiveness during the study and after graduation from Chinese Universities.Main trends and development of China’s education policy for international students,evolution of international students’ management have been examined.Cross-cultural adaptation,including language barriers,diverse educational background,approaches for cultural exchange and individual development of international students in general and particularly after graduation have been analyzed and studied.Besides that,the most important and challenging activity after the graduation of Chinese tertiary education-internship opportunities and career progress of newly graduated foreign students have been analyzed. |
