| It is essential and necessary way for enterprises to implement innovation strategy in order to enhance their competitive advantage and seek development.However,enterprise innovation practice is indeed a high-risk activity.In today’s environment of fierce competition and rapid replacement of knowledge,information and technology,innovation failure may make enterprises unable to operate.Therefore,under the background that innovation has become an essential practical activity for enterprises,how to effectively considerate the relationship of exploratory innovation and exploitation innovation for amplified advantages and reduction of the losses caused by innovation failure has become an important topic in enterprise management practice.This paper adopts empirical research methods,based on entrepreneurship theory and ambidextrous innovation theory,follows the basic logic of "Strategy – Behavior-Performance",and carries out research along the main line of "Entrepreneurship Orientation – Ambidextrous Innovation Synergy-Enterprise Performance".Firstly,it combs the literature on entrepreneurial orientation,enterprise performance,ambidextrous innovation and its synergy,then,defines the concept,dimension and related research of each variable.The independent variables are three sub-dimensions of entrepreneurship orientation based on the independent dimension view: innovation,risk-taking and proactiveness.The dependent variable evaluates enterprise performance from two dimensions: financial performance and growth performance.The mediating variable is the ambidextrous innovation synergy integrating the two dimensions of ambidextrous innovation balance and combination.Secondly,it verifies the relationship between three sub-dimensions of entrepreneurship orientation and performance,and introduces ambidextrous innovation synergy as an mediating variable.The innovation of this paper is composed of two dimensions,namely,the integration and complementarity of innovation.Secondly,the innovation of this paper refers to the balance between the two dimensions.Finally,the mediating effects of ambidextrous innovation balance and combination on each dimension of entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance are tested one by one.The study found that:(1)Entrepreneurial orientation can positively promote enterprise performance;(2)there are differences in the mediating effects of combination and balance on entrepreneurial orientation and enterprise performance in the two dimensions of ambidextrous innovation synergy;(3)ambidextrous innovation complementarity has a significant mediating effect between the three sub dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation,financial performance and growth performance;(4)Ambidextrous innovation balance plays a significant intermediary role between the three sub dimensions of entrepreneurial orientation and growth performance.This study enriches the research of ambidextrous innovation theory and puts forward reference strategies for enterprise innovation activities.Enterprises implement both exploratory innovation and utilization innovation,which is advantageous to giving play to their synergy,and provides practical guidance for enterprises to implement innovation activities. |
