| As the foundation and core of the modern industrial system, the lifeline of the national economy and the engine that drives the rapid economic growth, the equipment manufacturing enterprises undertake the important task of providing equipment for all sectors of the national economy and driving the development of relevant industries.China’s equipment manufacturing enterprises have been engaged in low-end integrated assembly for a long time.Problems such as backward technology and equipment, extensive production mode and poor independent innovation ability restrict the transformation of equipment manufacturing enterprises from large to strong. In 2021,China promulgated the "14th Five-Year Plan for High-quality Development of Manufacturing industry",pointing out that the manufacturing industry should accelerate high-quality development and seize the commanding heights of the new round of competition in the global economy.Total factor productivity(TFP)is the production efficiency that an enterprise converts factor input into output. It reflects the output level derived from non-productive inputs such as technological progress, management ability, corporate governance strategy and rational allocation of factors, and is an important content to evaluate the competitiveness of an enterprise in the field. The research on measuring and improving the total factor productivity of equipment manufacturing enterprises is helpful to enrich the research on total factor productivity, promote the transformation of development mode of equipment manufacturing enterprises and achieve high-quality development. This paper uses quantitative and qualitative research methods to measure the total factor productivity of China’s equipment manufacturing enterprises and its differences, and puts forward some suggestions for improving total factor productivity.First of all,on the basis of analyzing the research background and clarifying the purpose and significance of the research, the literature related to the research on total factor productivity of equipment manufacturing enterprises at home and abroad is sorted out,and then the research framework of this paper is determined.Secondly, the research object of this paper is defined, and the related theories are described, and the methods involved in the research, indicators and data are explained, which lays a methodological foundation for the research on total factor productivity of equipment manufacturing enterprises.Thirdly,LP method and kernel density estimation are used to estimate the TFP level and its evolution trend, and the TFP level is studied from three levels of population, space and industry, and it is concluded that TFP has space and industry heterogeneity. On this basis, the Dagum Gini coefficient and its decomposition method,The Tyle index and MP method are used to study the difference of total factor productivity. The results show that the difference between enterprises and industries contributes significantly, the absolute technological progress of enterprises contributes significantly to the growth and difference of total factor productivity, and the contribution rate of resource allocation efficiency between enterprises is low. Finally, based on the measured results of space and industry, suggestions for improving total factor productivity are put forward from the perspectives of technological progress, resource allocation efficiency and enterprise operation and management. |
