Russia believes that the impact of the BRICS is the factor of political and economy stability.Russia is one of the most important players of the BRICS countries.Russia’s participation in the BRICS countries is strategically important for Russian foreign policy.The country’s leadership considers Russia’s participation in BRICS strategically aimed at improving Russia’s international prestige.However,establishing world order alone is almost impossible in today’s global,interdependent and diverse world.Russia considers that its collaboration with BRICS will continue to contribute to international security and global growth,solve the key problems of the modern era.This paper introduces the current direction of Russia’s foreign policy and analyzes the evolution of Russia’s foreign relations.Russia was in bankruptcy in 1991,so its opportunities and political influence were limited.Russia has tried to forge commercial ties with its former Soviet adversary.During that time,the main task of Russian foreign policy was to revive the political situation and the economy.From2000 to 2012,Russia pursued an active foreign policy aimed at resolving existing differences on existing global and regional issues.After the Ukrainian crisis in 2014,the status of the BRICS countries in Russia’s foreign policy has increased.Russia develops cooperation with the BRICS countries mainly in the areas of trade,finance and security.Russia has a strong economic complementarity for the BRICS countries,so there are still many opportunities for development in terms of economy cooperation.The Ukrainian crisis of 2022 faced a security dilemma under the pressure from the United States and NATO.Western countries have imposed serious economic sanctions against Russia for intervening in the situation.Therefore,it is obvious that Russia will actively develop cooperation with the BRICS countries.In this international agenda,relations between Russia and the BRICS countries deserve more international relation specialists and researchers to be involved. |
