| With the maturity of project management theory, large quantities of enterprise use different means of change and management mechanisms for project management, hoping to contribute to the success of projects.Entrepreneurial orientation as a strategic-level concept can inspire a sense of struggle and ownership among team members. Therefore,in recent years, researchers have begun to investigate the link between entrepreneurial orientation and project success, but relevant academic studies based on project teams are limited. Therefore, when studying engineering project success,it is particularly important to explore how team entrepreneurial orientation acts on project success.Based on resource dependence theory and entrepreneurial process theory, this study combines existing research on team entrepreneurial orientation and engineering project success to sort out and define the connotations and dimensions of team entrepreneurial orientation and engineering project success. In this study, the team entrepreneurial orientation was classified into five dimensions: innovativeness,autonomy,risk-taking,initiative and competitive aggressiveness, while project success is characterized by four dimensions: quality, schedule, cost and return of engineering project. At the same time, resource bricolage is introduced as a mediating variable between team entrepreneurial orientation and project success, and social capital as a moderating variable, and a more complete theoretical model is constructed. We focus on the mediating mechanism of resource bricolage between team entrepreneurial orientation and project success, and the moderating effect of social capital on this mediating model,so as to explain the mechanism of entrepreneurial orientation for project success. The data collected were then analyzed and processed using 207 valid samples of engineering industry practitioners to test the reliability and validity, and the hypotheses were tested and the results were analyzed using bootstrapping and PLS-SEM research methods. The empirical analysis of this study produced the following results:(1)team entrepreneurial orientation and its five dimensions, resource bricolage, are positively related to engineering project success;(2)resource bricolage assumes intermediary role in the relationship between team entrepreneurial orientation and project success;(3)project team social capital negatively moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and resource bricolage. The findings suggest that entrepreneurial orientation promotes project success through creative pooling of resources at hand, especially for project teams with low external social support. The results reveal the mechanism of the role of team entrepreneurial orientation on the success of engineering projects. It effectively opens the black box between team entrepreneurial orientation and project success, enriches the understanding of the mechanism of the role of team entrepreneurial orientation on project success, and further broadens the boundaries of research related to the translation of team entrepreneurial orientation into project success. And it provides the project team with the idea of resource piecing together, which helps the team break through the resource bottleneck, and then contribute to the success of the project and bring higher benefits to the organization. |
