In the context of globalisation, the new rules of international trade and commerce are also extending and expanding towards trade facilitation and liberalization, accompanied by the reduction of traditional trade barriers.Technical barriers to trade are increasingly influencing international trade by virtue of their legitimacy in terms of implementation motives, easy access to domestic support and the advantages of being easily hidden in various laws and regulations in the implementation process.China is now one of the world’s leading agricultural trading nations, and the export trade volume of agricultural products is also on the rise.In recent years, the export volume of China’s agricultural products to the countries along the Belt and Road accounts for more than one third of the total export volume, and agricultural products have been subject to serious technical barriers to trade. However,at present, such research is mostly focused on the research of technical barriers to trade on the aggregate, and its research is also mostly theoretical derivation.Based on the theory of heterogeneous enterprises, the marginal increment of trade along the expansion helps to resist the external risk and the improvement of industrial structure. This paper suggests that the growth of China’s agricultural exports today has been achieved mainly along the margins of intensification, and in terms of the impact of TBT,TBT shows a significant negative correlation with the intensive margin, but TBT has a positive contribution in the extended margin, mainly because technical barriers to trade increase the cost of the product, which has a price and quantity suppression effect on the export of the product. This is probably due to the fact that TBTs have to a certain extent played a role in information disclosure, promoted the improvement of product quality, increased consumers’ willingness to buy and the fact that China’s ability to deal with trade barriers has increased in recent years and enterprises have made corresponding adjustments to their products to break through the barriers. Finally, suggestions are made on how China should break through technical barriers to trade at the national and enterprise levels.
