Artificial intelligence has become the core driving force of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, and its rapid development is having a profound impact on the way of social production and life.China needs to firmly grasp the historic opportunity of artificial intelligence, which is of great significance to achieve high-quality economic development.Technological progress is the source of growth, and employment is vital to people’s wellbeing.Employment is an important factor affecting a country’s economic development, social stability and people’s quality of life. With the continuous development of artificial intelligence,it is bound to have a certain impact on the labor market.A series of issues, such as whether "machine replacement" will lead to large-scale unemployment and how artificial intelligence technology will affect the employment structure of Labor force in China, have become hot issues of social concern. In 2020,China’s 14 th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development and 2035 vision goal clearly stated: "Strengthen the policy of giving priority to employment. We will do everything possible to stabilize and expand employment, keep economic development employment-oriented,expand the number and quality of employment, and promote full employment." One of the development goals for people’s wellbeing is to achieve high-quality employment. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the influence of artificial intelligence development on labor employment in China from two aspects of total employment volume and employment structure.First of all, based on the artificial intelligence development and labor employment related literature of carding and research, according to the theory of compensation mechanism, capital organic structure theory and the theory of industrial reserve army, innovation and economic cycle theory and the theory of technology-economy paradigm, and puts forward the following three assumptions: first, the development of artificial intelligence has substitution effect on the employment in our country.Second, the development of artificial intelligence makes China’s labor force employment structure present a "high-level" trend.Third, the development of artificial intelligence has a heterogeneous impact on the employment structure in different regions of China.Secondly,an empirical study is conducted using the provincial panel data from 2006 to 2019 in China. After panel data regression analysis, endogeneity test and robustness test, the following conclusions are drawn: First,in terms of employment, the development of ARTIFICIAL intelligence has a substitution effect on the total employment of Labor force in China.Second,in terms of employment structure, the development of ARTIFICIAL intelligence makes China’s labor force employment structure present a "advanced" development trend, that is,the development of artificial intelligence replaces China’s low and medium skilled labor force, while increasing the employment demand for high-skilled labor force;Third, from a regional perspective, the employment structure of labor force in both eastern and central China presents a trend of "advanced",but in western China, the development of artificial intelligence has no significant impact on the employment structure of labor force. Finally, according to the research conclusions, the following countermeasures and suggestions are put forward: accelerate the development of artificial intelligence;Committed to enhancing human capital;Strengthen the training and reserve of relevant high-skilled personnel;Actively promote the diversification and high-quality development of China’s modern service industry; We will establish and improve the social employment security system.
