| In the current historical background,the companies have closer and closer relationship as well as face more and more fierce competitions.If a company wants to stay alive among the competitors,it needs to innovate,improve working performance,and enhance comprehensive strength.H company is a branch of an international conglomerate.Its major business is micro channel heat exchanger.Although H company is ranked at first level in its field,its profit increased slowly in the past 10 years since the beginning of its establishment.The New Product Development(NPD)projects have never been successful,which leads to difficulties in expanding the market share and developing the new customers and causes H company suppressed by the competitor forever.There’re two major reasons leading to this situation:1,Low team performance,slow response to the customers’ requests,slow progress of the working process;2,Lack of innovation,hard to develop new products.And to a large extent,it relates to the company’s organizational structure and management style.After studying on the theory of shared leadership and its effect on team performance and innovation,it is found that shared leadership can provide more power of self-management,power of leading and power of decision-making to the staff,allowing them to participate into the company’s management,to increase their positivity,enhance their self-driving,improve their relationship with their boss and improve the working atmosphere,all of which could stimulate their creativity and improve their performance.To verify if the shared leadership theory works in H company,it is suggested to implement shared leadership in the NPD projects.After more than 6 months of practice,benefits gained and defects found.Based on the situation in H company,a continuous improvement plan is made.It’s hoped that a suitable way of shared leadership will be found for H company.If the trial is successful,the shared leadership can be leveraged to other projects or organizations.Also,it’s hoped that this research can provide some inspiration and reference to the companies similar as H company,can initiate their consideration on their own management style and can inspire their willingness to implement share leadership in their companies. |
